E.J. Lenzi
Eugene J. Lenzi is a former American racing driver and currently owns a restaurant Chicago. Lenzi raced in the Atlantic Championship, Formula Super Vee among other series. Racing career Lenzi grew up with Bignotti-Cotter Racing team owner Dan Cotter as their neighbor. Lenzi first appeared on the national racing scene in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs in 1984 and a year later, 1985. In 1985 and 1986 Lenzi joined Prather Racing. Prather Racing was headed by Edward Sexton and was the Swift dealer for the SCCA Central division. With Intercar Racing Lenzi graduated into the SCCA Formula Super Vee. The driver started the season in a Martini Mk.47. Lenzi scored his best finish in a Ralt in sixth place at Detroit. The Dave Steele Carb Night Classic is a United States Auto Club dirt track car race held near Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, which takes place in late May before the Indianapolis 500 at the nearby Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Over its history, the event has been held at several different short tracks in Indiana, but since 1980, it has permanently been hosted at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in Brownsburg, Indiana. Formula F At The SCCA National Championship Runoffs
Formula F is one of the oldest classes competed at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs. Formula Ford was first introduced at the Runoffs in 1969 at Daytona. The first edition featured 21 drivers with Skip Barber winning the race and scoring the fastest lap. Most cars in the field were imported British Formula Ford cars such as the Merlyn, Lotus and Royale. Barber also won the second edition in 1970. The following decades saw many racing drivers competed in various different racing chassis. Dave Weitzenhof is the most successful driver in the class winning four times, each at Road Atlanta. The introduction of the Swift DB1 in 1983 started an era of dominance. The chassis type won the race ten times. The chassis type also won ten consecutive pole positions between 1983 and 1992. The Ford Kent is an internal combustion engine from Ford of Europe. Originally developed in 1959 for the Ford Anglia, it is an in-line four-cylinder pushrod engine with a cast-iron cylinder head and block. The Kent family can be divided into three basic sub-families; the original pre-Crossflow Kent, the Crossflow (the most prolific of all versions of the Kent), and the transverse mounted Valencia variants.
