Drangedal
Drangedal is a municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Grenland. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Prestestranda. The municipality of Drangedal was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The district of Tørdal encompassed the northwestern part of the municipality. The administrative centre in Drangedal, Prestestranda, and is situated by Lake Toke. The municipal government is located there along with primary and secondary schools, shopping facilities, and a bank. Gautefall
Gautefall (also known as Gautefallheia) is a mountain hamlet (Norwegian: ''fjellgrend'') in Drangedal municipality in Telemark County, Norway. It is situated in-between Bostrak in Drangedal and Treungen in Nissedal. It is home to a ski center, tourist resort and consists mostly of vacation homes and cabins. It is located in a mountainous area and is a major winter sports destination. It is a popular destination for skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting, swimming, and other recreational activities. Gautefall Ski Resort is one of the largest alpine centers in Telemark. It is home to 15 slopes, 1 chairlift, 5 surface lifts, and a roll band. It has a total capacity of 7000 people per hour. Toke (lake)
Toke is a lake in Drangedal municipality in Vestfold og Telemark, Norway, consisting of Upper and Lower Toke, which is connected via , literally 'the stream'. At the north end of Upper Toke is the town center Prestestranda. In the south, Lower Toke reaches into Bamble () and into Kragerø, where its outlet is in at the Dalfoss hydroelectric plant. The lake, with its inflow, constitutes the majority of the Kragerø watershed. With a surface of about and a drainage basin of , Toke is a substantial body of water in Telemark. Its approximately -long shoreline, a large part of which consists of an old lakebed with clay and deposits of silt, is strongly exposed to erosion because of development for power production. With its long shoreline and innumerable larger and smaller islands and narrow bays, Toke is a popular destination for boaters and sport fishers. Kragerø Line
The Kragerø Line () was a long railway line between Neslandsvatn and Kragerø in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. It was opened on 2 December 1927 as part of the Sørlandet Line. From 10 November 1935, the Sørlandet Line was extended from Neslandsvatn to Arendal, and the Kragerø Line became a branch. It was mostly served with feeder trains, although a through train to Oslo was kept until the 1970s. Falling ridership caused the line to become closed from 1 December 1989, along with many other branch lines. Part of the line remains, although other parts have been demolished. Route After the line was closed, the section from Sannidal to Kragerø, roughly , was demolished to make way for a road. The Tangeheia Tunnel was widened and also used. Vestfold Og Telemark
Vestfold og Telemark (; ) is a county under disestablishment in Norway. The county is the southernmost one of Eastern Norway and consists of two distinct and separate traditional regions: the former counties of Telemark and (most of) Vestfold. The capital is located at the town of Skien, which is also the county's largest city. While Skien is the seat of the county municipality, the seat of the County Governor is Tønsberg. It borders the counties of Viken, Vestland, Rogaland and Agder. Hallvard Graatop
Hallvard Graatop was a 15th-century Norwegian rebel leader who fought against Erik of Pomerania. The name "Graatop", meaning "Gray-top" is probably a '' nom de guerre'', possibly referring to gray hair or a gray hood (as a wanted outlaw, he may have concealed his face). Andrew Gulickson
Andrew Gulickson (December 18, 1856 – April 29, 1941) was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Gulickson was born at Drangedal in Telemark, Norway.
