The Döbling Carmelite Monastery (Karmelitenkloster Döbling) is a monastery belonging to the Teresian Carmelites, a reformed branch of the Carmelites that arose out of the reform of the Carmelite Order by two Spain, Spanish saints, St. Teresa of Ávila and St. John of the Cross; the Teresian Carmelites thus belong to the Discalced Carmelites (''Ordo Carmelitarum Discalceatorum''). The monastery stands next to a Roman-Catholic Church, Roman Catholic church in the suburb of Unterdöbling in the 19th district of Vienna, Döbling. History of the monastery The first monastery belonging to the Discalced Carmelites was founded in Austria on 4 February 1622 in Leopoldstadt (suburb), Leopoldstadt (see Karmeliterviertel). Döbling () is the 19th Districts of Vienna, district in the city of Vienna, Austria (). It is located in the north of Vienna, north of the districts Alsergrund and Währing. Döbling has some heavily populated urban areas with many residential buildings, and borders the Vienna Woods. Statistik Austria, 2008, website: (in German: population is "Einwohner").
