Dzhigarkhanyan
Armen Borisi Dzhigarkhanyan (3 October 193514 November 2020) was a Soviet Union, Soviet, Armenian, and Russian actor. Born and raised in Yerevan, Dzhigarkhanyan started acting in the academic and Russian theaters of the city, before moving to Moscow to continue stage acting. Since 1960, he appeared in a number of Armenian films. He became popular in the 1970s with the various roles he portrayed in Soviet films like ''The New Adventures of the Elusive Avengers'' (1968), its sequel ''The Crown of the Russian Empire, or Once Again the Elusive Avengers'' (1971) and ''The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed'' (1979). After almost 30 years on the stage of the Mayakovsky Theatre, Dzhigarkhanyan taught at Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography, VGIK and in 1996 he founded his own drama theater in Moscow. ''The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed'' () is a 1979 Soviet five-part television film directed by Stanislav Govorukhin and starring singer-songwriter Vladimir Vysotsky in one of his final screen appearances alongside actor Vladimir Konkin. The script, written by Arkady and Georgy Vayner, is based on the plot of their novel '. The film is set in post-war Moscow. An investigation into the "Black Cat" gang is carried out by officers of the anti-banditry division of the Moscow Criminal Investigations Department, headed by police captain Zheglov. The film's plot echoes the real story of the Krasnogorsk gang of Ivan Mitin, who were involved in robberies, assaults, and murders in Moscow and the Moscow Oblast in the early 1950s. ''The Storm'' (, sometimes translated as ''The Thunderstorm'') is a drama in five acts by the 19th-century Russian playwright Aleksandr Ostrovsky. As with Ostrovsky's other plays, ''The Storm'' is a work of social criticism, which is directed particularly towards the Russian merchant class. History Ostrovsky wrote the play between July and October 1859. He read it in Lyubov Nikulina-Kositskaya's Moscow flat to the actors of the Maly Theatre to a great response.
