Dyo Xenoi
''Dιo Xenoi'' (English: ''Two Strangers'') is the title of a Greek romance comedy television series aired by Mega Channel in the 1997–1999 seasons. The screenplay was written by Alexandros Rigas and Dimitris Apostolou. The series presents the development and evolution of a love affair between a popular and low-educated young woman, TV presenter of light content (Evelina Papoulia), and an ancient drama teacher with intensely haughty principles and introverted personality (Nikos Sergianopoulos). It was one of the most successful series of Greek television and it won the best comedy series award in the "Prosopa" Greek Television Awards in 1998. Since then, it has been shown on repeat every year due to the huge success it experienced. The title of the series is inspired by the lyrics of the song "The Sign" written to music by Marios Tokas and performed by Konstantina and Yiannis Parios. Nikos Sergianopoulos
Nikos Sergianopoulos (; 24 September 1952 – 4 June 2008), surname also spelled as Seryanopoulos or Seryiannopoulos, was a Greek actor. Early life and career Born in Drama, Greece, he graduated from the State Theater of Northern Greece (ΚΘΒΕ) and was a founding member of the ''Piramatiki Skini Tehnis'' artwork club in Thessaloniki. He took part in numerous theatrical and television productions and gained recognition for his role in the popular television series of Mega Channel ''Dyo Xenoi'' (1997–98). Death Sergianopoulos was found murdered in his apartment on the morning of 4 June 2008, in Pagkrati, a central district of Athens. According to police evidence he was a victim of homicide, suffering a total of twenty-one stab wounds. Aliki Vougiouklaki
Aliki Stamatina Vougiouklaki (Greek: Αλίκη Σταματίνα Βουγιουκλάκη Greek pronunciation: ˈlici stamaˈtina vuʝuˈklaci 20 July 1934 – 23 July 1996) was a Greek cinema and theater actress, singer and theatrical producer. She is one of the most popular actresses in Greece, and was often referred to as "the National Star of Greece". Theatrically, she mostly starred in renditions of widely known Broadway musicals as well as multiple Greek tragedy plays. Vougiouklaki died in 1996 at the age of 62, just three months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The series focuses on the lives of four women who want to take revenge from the man who sexually abused them when they were little girls. Evelina Papoulia (Greek language, Greek: Εβελίνα Παπούλια; born 25 March 1971) is a Greek actress and dancer. She is best known for her role as Marina Kountouratou in the TV series ''Dyo Xenoi'' (1997). Career In 1989 she moved to New York City to study dance at The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance and acting at The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. "Prosopa" Greek Television Awards
The "Prosopa" Greek Television Awards were annual awards about the Greek television. They were the only notable awards in the history of Greek television, since they lasted thirteen years, covering the most successful period of the Greek television. They began in 1997, organised by Tv Ethnos, a magazine issued by the Greek newspaper Ethnos. The last awards were given in 2009. The next years the awards stopped because the productions of Greek television were limited due to Greek debt crisis.
