Dynamix, Inc. was an American developer of video games from 1984 to 2001, best known for the flight simulator Red Baron (1990 video game), ''Red Baron'', the puzzle video game, puzzle game ''The Incredible Machine (video game), The Incredible Machine'', the ''Front Page Sports'' series, ''Betrayal at Krondor,'' and the online multiplayer game ''Tribes (video game), Tribes''. History The company was founded in Eugene, Oregon in 1984 by Jeff Tunnell and Damon Slye. Their first title, ''Stellar 7'', was released before company founding and was later Video game remake, remade with the Dynamix name on it. They made a number of games for the Commodore 64, among them Project Firestart, which was one of the most atmospheric titles for the C64. Jeff Tunnell
Jeffrey Tunnell is a video game producer, programmer and designer. In 1984 he founded Dynamix with Damon Slye in Eugene, Oregon. In 1990, Tunnell left Dynamix to start Jeff Tunnell Productions. Tunnell would go on to create famous brands such as '' The Incredible Machine'', '' Trophy Bass'', and the ''3-D Ultra Pinball'' series while at Jeff Tunnell Productions. These products were some of the most successful retail products to be published by Dynamix. In 1993, ''Sid & Al's Incredible Toons'' earned Tunnell and Chris Cole a patent for the game's concepts. In 1995, Tunnell returned to Dynamix in a leadership role. In 2001, after Dynamix was disbanded, Tunnell co-founded GarageGames, an independent video game publisher, which is also the developer of the Torque Game Engine. Damon Slye (born June 15, 1962) is a computer game game designer, designer, director, and game programmer, programmer. In 1984 he founded Dynamix with Jeff Tunnell in Eugene, Oregon, Eugene, Oregon. He is best known for creating the historic flight simulations ''Red Baron (video game), Red Baron'', ''A-10 Tank Killer'', and ''Aces of the Pacific''. ''Arcticfox'' is a science fiction tank simulation video game developed by Dynamix and published by Electronic Arts in 1986. It was published in Europe by Ariolasoft. A sequel to Dynamix's ''Stellar 7'', it was released on Atari ST, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, MS-DOS, and Apple II. A third game was released in the series in 1991 titled ''Nova 9: The Return of Gir Draxon''. The game is set in a fictional 2005 where aliens have taken over Antarctica in an attempt to steal the Earth's oxygen. ''A-10 Tank Killer'' is a 1989 combat flight simulation video game for DOS developed and published by Dynamix. An Amiga version was released in 1990. The game features an A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft. Following the success of ''Red Baron'', version 1.5 was released in 1991 which included Gulf War missions and improved graphics and sounds. Several mission packs were sold separately. A sequel published by Sierra, '' Silent Thunder: A-10 Tank Killer II'', was released in 1996. Gameplay The gameplay consists of the player piloting an A-10 Thunderbolt II "tank killer" through various combat missions set in the Gulf War air campaign as well as a fictional European scenario. The player receives a mission briefing, has the opportunity to customize a weapon load-out before starting the mission, and is debriefed after the mission. ''Stellar 7'' is a first-person vehicle simulation game, tank simulation video game based on the 1980s arcade game ''Battlezone (1980 video game), Battlezone'' in which the player assumes the role of a futuristic tank pilot. The game was created by Damon Slye for the Apple II and Commodore 64 in 1983, then remade in the early 1990s for MS-DOS, Amiga, and Classic Mac OS. ''Sid & Al's Incredible Toons'' is a puzzle video game developed by Dynamix and released by Sierra On-Line in 1993. Summary This video game is designed with the same style as that of '' The Incredible Machine'', except that the game takes place on a cartoon stage instead of a laboratory. The game focuses on the humorous adventures of the game's two main characters, Sid E. Mouse and Al E. Cat (both puns on 'city mouse' and 'alley cat', respectively), as each tries to make life unbearable for the other. It features 100 puzzles and an editor, which allows players to design their own puzzles. The main objective of the game is to finish a "puzzle-piece" photograph by completing each puzzle. ''The Incredible Machine'' (''TIM'') is a series of video games in which players create a series of Rube Goldberg devices. ''Betrayal at Krondor'' is an MS-DOS-based role-playing video game developed by Dynamix and released by Sierra Entertainment, Sierra On-Line in the summer of 1993 in video gaming, 1993. ''Betrayal at Krondor'' takes place largely in Midkemia, the fantasy literature, fantasy world developed by Raymond E. Feist in his ''Riftwar'' novels. The game is designed to resemble a book, separated into chapters and narrated in the third-person with a quick-save bookmark feature. Although neither the dialog nor narrative were written by Feist himself, the game is considered canon, having been novelized as ''Krondor: The Betrayal'' five years later.
