Dwight Dinkla
Dwight L. Dinkla (born December 30, 1951) an American politician. Dinkla was raised in Adair County, Iowa, alongside an elder sister Jo Ann Dinkla, by parents Elmer and Arlene Dinkla. He graduated from Adair-Casey Community High School in 1970, completed his bachelor's degree at Morningside College in 1970 and received a Juris Doctor degree from Drake University in 1973. After serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1977 to 1980, Dwight Dinkla transferred to the Iowa Army National Guard in 1982. Adair County is a county in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 7,496. Its county seat is Greenfield. History Adair County was formed in 1851 from sections of Pottawattamie County. It was named for John Adair, a general in the War of 1812, and the eighth Governor of Kentucky. Jo Ann M. Johnson (born April 24, 1949) is an American politician. Jo Ann Dinkla was born to parents Elmer and Arlene Dinkla in Massena, Iowa, on April 24, 1949. Her younger brother is Dwight Dinkla. Jo Ann Dinkla graduated from Adair-Casey High School in 1967, and earned a bachelor of arts in education from the University of Northern Iowa in 1971. That year, she married Craig Douglas, with whom she raised a daughter and a son. Jo Ann Douglas worked as a farmer, teacher and coach, served on the Adair-Casey school board and the Adair County Republican Central Committee, and was a member of Jim Ross Lightfoot's campaign staff from 1984 to 1990. She was elected to her first term on the Iowa Senate in 1994, and served District 39. The Iowa House of Representatives is the lower house of the Iowa General Assembly, the upper house being the Iowa Senate. There are 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing 100 single-member districts across the state, formed by dividing the 50 Senate districts in half. Each district has a population of approximately 30,464 . The House of Representatives meets at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. Unlike the upper house, the Iowa Senate, state House representatives serve two-year terms with the whole chamber up for re-election in even-numbered years. There are no term limits for the House.
