Dushman (1971 Film)
''Dushmun'' () is a 1972 Indian Hindi-language film produced by Premji and directed by Dulal Guha. It is based on a novel by Virendra Sharma. The film stars Rajesh Khanna in the title role and for which he received a Filmfare nomination as Best Actor, the only nomination for the film. Meena Kumari, Mumtaz, Bindu, Rehman, Asit Sen and Johnny Walker are part of the cast. The film became a "super-hit" at the box office and stood 3rd in a major top ten list. The 2012 review of the film by the newspaper ''The Hindu'' stated: "Essaying the role of Surjit Singh, a reckless, macho truck driver, with a penchant for consuming desi liquor and visiting brothels, the actor can be described in only one word — superb. Hosa Theerpu
''Hosa Theerpu'' ( ) is a 1983 Indian Kannada-language directed by Shankar Nag, and is a remake of the Hindi-language film '' Dushmun'' (1972), written by Virendra Sinha. It stars Ambareesh as Raja, a reckless truck driver who runs over a farmer, and is sentenced to two years of supporting the deceased's family as punishment for his crime. Hamid Ali Murad (24 September 1911 – 24 April 1997), known simply as Murad, was an Indian character actor who appeared in more than 200 Hindi language films from the early 1940s through to the end of the 1980s, playing character roles of a father, police officer, judge and an emperor. His son Raza Murad is also an actor in the Hindi film industry who is known for playing mostly villain roles. Nana Palshikar () (1907 – 1 June 1984) was an Indian actor who appeared in over 80 Hindi films. He made his film debut in 1935 with ''Dhuwandhar'', and went on to play character roles in both Hindi mainstream and arthouse films. He was also cast in small parts in a few international productions such as '' Maya'' (1966), '' The Guru'' (1969) and '' Gandhi'' (1982). Kanhaiyalal (1910 14 August 1982) was an Indian actor who acted in 122 films in his career, primarily in Hindi films produced in Bollywood, the Mumbai-based film industry. Early life Kanhaiyalal was born in 1910 in Varanasi. His father Pandit Bhairodutt Choube, popularly known as Choubeji, was the proprietor of the Sanatan Dharm Natak Samaj in Varanasi. With his father not in agreement with him taking up any form of stage work, he eventually wore out his father's opposition and did odd jobs in the troupe. At 16, he started writing and then moved on to small roles. When his father died, the brothers tried to run the drama company for some time.
