Duo Petrof
Duo Petrof is a piano-duo composed of Anatoly Zatin (born 23 March 1954, in Uzhhorod) and Vlada Vassilieva (born 10 July 1985, in Moscow). Anatoly Zatin is a pianist, composer and conductor graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory, member of the St Petersburg Union of Composers, professor and Dean of the Fine Arts Institute at the University of Colima in Mexico. Vlada Vassilieva studied with Anatoly Zatin at the University of Colima and later with Pavlina Dokovska at Mannes College of Music in New York City as a Fulbright grantee. She currently teaches at the University of Colima. Both pianists currently reside in Mexico. The duo was formed in 2003 in cooperation with the University of Colima and Petrof Pianos of Mexico. Sergei Slonimsky
Sergei Mikhailovich Slonimsky (russian: Серге́й Миха́йлович Слони́мский; 12 August 1932 – 9 February 2020) was a Russian and Soviet composer, pianist and musicologist. Biography He was the son of the Soviet writer Mikhail Slonimsky and nephew of the Russian-American composer Nicolas Slonimsky. He studied at the Musical College in Moscow from 1943 until 1950. From 1950 Slonimsky was at the Leningrad Conservatory. He studied composition under Boris Arapov, Vissarion Shebalin and Orest Yevlakhov, polyphony under Nicolai Uspensky and piano under Anna Artobolevskaya, Samari Savshinsky and Vladimir Nielsen. Slonimsky was a professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. Aleksey Mikhailovich Igudesman (russian: Алексей Михайлович Игу́десман, link=no; born 22 February 1973) is a Russian-German violinist, composer, conductor, comedian and actor. Claude Bolling (10 April 1930 – 29 December 2020) was a French jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and occasional actor. Biography He was born in Cannes, France, and studied at the Nice Conservatory, and then in Paris. A child prodigy, by the age of 14 he was playing jazz piano professionally, with Lionel Hampton, Roy Eldridge, and Kenny Clarke. Bolling's books on jazz technique show that he did not delve far beyond bebop into much avant-garde jazz.
