Dunderlandsdølen
''Rana Blad'' is a daily, regional newspaper published in Mo i Rana, Norway and covering Northern Helgeland. It was started as ''Dunderlandsdølen'' in 1902 and edited by Redvald Knudtson continuously from 1947, with its name being ''Helgelands Fremtid'' from 1918 to 1920. The newspaper was also defunct from the summer of 1920 to January 1921, as well as 1941 to 1945 when the Nazi authorities shut it down during the German occupation of Norway. When the newspaper took the name ''Rana Blad'' in 1947, it was published three times a week, but became daily in 1956, three years after it surpassed its competitor ''Helgeland'' in circulation size. ''Dunderlandsdølen'' and ''Rana Blad'' were officially aligned with the Labour Party. Redvald Knudtson
Redvald Knudtson (4 March 1870 – 29 June 1961) was a Norwegian newspaper editor and politician for the Labour Party (Norway), Labour Party. He was born at Rolstadli in Sør-Fron as a son of farmers Knudt Pedersen Rolstadli and Embjørg Amundsdatter née Wangen. He started his career as a construction labourer. From 1895 to 1898 he was a foreman during the construction of Agdenes Fortress, before supervising construction at Oscarsborg Fortress from 1898 to 1901 and Kykkelsrud power station in 1902. In 1902 Knudston moved to Mo i Rana. He established a printing press and the newspaper ''Dunderlandsdølen'', which he edited from 1902 to 1947. He was among the founders of the Norwegian Union of General Workers, Union of General Workers and Labour Party locally. (Norwegian language, Norwegian; ) or (and unofficially , ) is a List of towns and cities in Norway, city, and the administrative centre of Rana Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the Helgeland region of Nordland, just south of the Arctic Circle.
