Dunbabin Point
Dunbabin point is a small peninsula which lies near Daltons beach, in the south east of Tasmania. It forms part of the mouth of King George Sound King George Sound (Mineng ) is a sound (geography), sound on the south coast of Western Australia. Named King George the Third's Sound in 1791, it was referred to as King George's Sound from 1805. The name "King George Sound" gradually came in .... It separates a small beach (Beach T 373) from Daltons beach. This narrow 100 metre long beach lies at the base of bluffs rising to 10 metres with a farmhouse and orchards on the slopes behind. Dunbabin point faces south across the sand flats it shares with Daltons Beach. In 1868 John Dunbabin purchased 101 acres of land in the county of Pembroke in Tasmania. King George Sound
King George Sound (Mineng ) is a sound (geography), sound on the south coast of Western Australia. Named King George the Third's Sound in 1791, it was referred to as King George's Sound from 1805. The name "King George Sound" gradually came into use from about 1934, prompted by new Admiralty (United Kingdom), Admiralty charts supporting the intention to eliminate the possessive 's' from geographical names. The sound covers an area of and varies in depth from . Situated at its western shore is the city of Albany, Western Australia, Albany. The sound is bordered by the mainland to the north, by Vancouver Peninsula on the west, and by Bald Head and Flinders Peninsula to the south. Although the sound is open water to the east, the waters are partially protected by Breaksea Island (Western Australia), Breaksea Island and Michaelmas Island. Pembroke Land District
Pembroke Land District is one of the twenty land districts of Tasmania which are part of the cadastral divisions of Tasmania. It was formerly one of the 18 counties of Tasmania. It includes Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur, as well as Forestier Peninsula, Dodges Ferry and Maria Island.
