Duna TV, full name ''Duna Televízió'' ()— is one of Hungary's public television channels. "Duna" is the Hungarian name for the Danube. Duna has been the ''national main channel'' of the public media MTVA since 15 March 2015. Duna TV is managed and primarily funded by the Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund (, abbreviated MTVA). This government organisation, formed in 2011, also manages the public service broadcasters Magyar Televízió and Magyar Rádió as well as the Hungarian news agency Magyar Távirati Iroda. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for Digitization, digitizing 625 lines, 625 line Analog television, analogue television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy colour encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL#PAL region, PAL, PAL/SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. M2 (TV Channel)
M2 (em kettő) is a Hungary, Hungarian television channel owned and operated by Duna Média since 2015. It is also transmitted in High-definition television, high definition. On 22 December 2012, M2's daytime hours became dedicated to children's programming. Since 15 March 2015, the night-time programming is called M2 Petőfi. Similar to TVP ABC in Poland, CBeebies, CBBC (TV channel), CBBC and BBC Three in the UK or ČT Déčko, ČT :D in the Czech republic, M2 broadcasts children's programming during the day while M2 Petőfi targets youth audiences as they broadcast at night with music videos (local and abroad), music-related (music concerts) and youth-related programming, as well as exclusive content from its radio counterpart, Petőfi Rádió. MTI (''Magyar Távirati Iroda'', literally "Hungarian Telegraphic Office") is a Hungarian news agency. One of the oldest news agencies in the world, it was founded in 1880. MTI was owned by MTI Rt., founded by the Parliament. The members of the Owners' Advisory Body are elected by the National Assembly of Hungary on four-year terms. It is a marketleader, and is considered by some sources to be a 'balanced and reliable source'. Still, it finds it difficult to raise subscriptions as most major Hungarian newspapers are foreign-owned. It must turn to the government for capital to overcome its technology deficit. M5 (TV Channel)
M5 is a Hungarian cultural television channel owned by Duna Media. It was a sports channel in its early weeks on air, as an overflow service for M4 Sport. Advertising is sold by Atmedia.
