Desmoulins
Lucie-Simplice-Camille-Benoît Desmoulins (; 2 March 17605 April 1794) was a French journalist, politician and a prominent figure of the French Revolution. He is best known for playing an instrumental role in the events that led to the Storming of the Bastille. Desmoulins was also noted for his radical criticism of the Reign of Terror as the editor of the journal ''Le Vieux Cordelier''. He was a schoolmate and close friend of Maximilien Robespierre and a close friend and political ally of Georges Danton, who were the leading figures in the French Revolution. A lawyer by training, Desmoulins was enthralled by the Revolution from its outbreak. On 12 July 1789, shortly after Louis XVI dismissed his popular finance minister Jacques Necker, Desmoulins delivered an impassioned call to arms to a crowd before the Palais-Royal. Brian Dumoulin
Brian Joseph Dumoulin (born September 6, 1991) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL). Dumoulin was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round (51st overall) of the 2009 NHL entry draft, and previously played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Seattle Kraken, and Anaheim Ducks. Growing up in Maine, Dumoulin played hockey for the Biddeford High School Tigers where he helped them win back-to-back state championships. Following this, he played one season with the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs before starting his freshman season at Boston College. Throughout his three seasons at Boston College, Dumoulin accumulated numerous honors and awards including the Hockey East Best Defensive Defenseman, All-Hockey East First Team, and Rookie Team. Charles Dumoulin (Du Moulin, Molinaeus) (1500–1566) was a French jurist. He was surnamed by some of his contemporaries the "French Papinian". Life He was born in Paris. He began practice as an advocate before the ''parlement'' of Paris from 1522 to 1535 and later taught law at various places. After he turned Lutheran and later Calvinist, he was forced into exile for many years, with stays in Basel, Geneva, Tübingen, Strasbourg, Besançon, and elsewhere. He returned to Paris in 1557 but had to flee again in 1562. After writing against the Council of Trent, he was imprisoned by order of the ''parlement'' until 1564. François Aimé Louis Dumoulin (10 August 1753 in Vevey – 16 February 1834 in Vevey) was a Swiss painter and engraver. Biography Although he received some education in technical drawing, Dumoulin was initially intended for a commercial career. In 1772, he sailed to England and to United States, America the next year. Arriving in Grenada, he made business while drawing plans and views for the governor. From 1776 to 1782, Dumoulin was a witness to the American Revolutionary War, American War of Independence, drawing several naval battles between the French Navy and the British Royal Navy. Returned to Vevey in 1783, he turned his sketches of the battles into oil paintings and watercolours, earning his life diving drawing lessons. Between 1795 and 1797, Dumoulin was in Paris, where he took lessons in anatomy, copied ancient paintings in the Louvre, attended the Academy and the School of naval constructions.
