Dukatalon is an Israeli doom/sludge metal trio, formed in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2007. The band recorded and self-released their debut album '' Saved By Fear'' in 2009, which was re-released in 2010, once the band was signed to Relapse Records. History Formation and beginning (2007–2008) The band was formed as a sludge metal trio in 2007, by vocalist and guitarist Zafrir Tzori, drummer Yariv Shilo and bassist Cavan, all coming from very different musical backgrounds, playing in bands that varied from chillout/ambient, country and blues to post-punk and heavy metal. Dukatalon started writing original material and performing around Israel right away, releasing a self-titled demo EP in 2007, and performing mostly within the hardcore punk and grindcore scene of Tel Aviv. Relapse Records is an American independent record label based in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. It was founded by Matthew F. Jacobson in 1990. The label features many grindcore, death metal, metalcore and sludge metal artists. History The label was started by Matthew F. Jacobson in August, 1990 in his parents' basement in Aurora, Colorado. The first two releases on the label were 7-inch singles by the bands Velcro Overdose and Face of Decline, closely followed by three death metal bands that would become among the biggest on the label, Deceased, Suffocation, and Incantation. Sludge is a semi-solid slurry that can be produced from a range of industrial processes, from water treatment, wastewater treatment or on-site sanitation systems. For example, it can be produced as a settled suspension obtained from conventional drinking water treatment, as sewage sludge from wastewater treatment processes or as fecal sludge from pit latrines and septic tanks. Buzzoven (typeset Buzzov•en) is an American heavy metal band from Salisbury, North Carolina, formed in 1990. The band was known for being one of the founders of the sludge genre along with NOLA's Eyehategod and Acid Bath, and also for their out-of-control and violent live shows. Karma to Burn, commonly abbreviated as K2B, is a desert rock/stoner rock band from Morgantown, West Virginia. The band are noted for their uncompromising, mostly instrumental sound. Stoner rock, also known as stoner metal or stoner doom, is a rock music fusion genre that combines elements of doom metal with psychedelic rock and acid rock. Groove metal is a subgenre of heavy metal music that began in the early 1990s. The genre achieved success in the 1990s and continued having success in the 2000s.
