Duca Lamberti
Duca Lamberti is a fictional character created by the Ukrainian-born Italian writer Giorgio Scerbanenco. Lamberti is a physician turned detective and the main character in Scerbanenco's Milano Quartet of crime novels: '' A Private Venus'' (1966), '' Traitors to All'' (1966), '' I ragazzi del massacro'' (1968) and '' I milanesi ammazzano al sabato'' (1969). He has been portrayed on film by Pier Paolo Capponi, Frank Wolff and Bruno Cremer. History and description Duca Lamberti is the main character in four crime novels by the Ukrainian-born Italian writer Giorgio Scerbanenco, conventionally known as the Milano Quartet, published from 1966 to 1969. The son of a police officer, he is a former physician who lost his medical licence after having performed euthanasia, and is approached by a colleague of his deceased father to help with a sensitive investigation in Milan. ''La morte risale a ieri sera'' (translation: ''Death occurred last night'') is a 1970 crime film directed by Duccio Tessari. The film was written by Tessari and Biagio Proietti and based on the novel '' I milanesi ammazzano al sabato'' (translation: ''The Milanese Kill on Saturdays'') by Giorgio Scerbanenco. ''La morte risale a ieri sera'' stars Raf Vallone and Frank Wolff. The film's score was composed by Gianni Ferrio, whose baroque and psychedelic contributions to the soundtrack were described by one critic as inconsistent with the tone of the film. The film was distributed internationally under the title ''Death Occurred Last Night'' in 1970, which only had a 95-minute running time. ''Naked Violence'' () is a 1969 Italian giallo-drama film directed by Fernando Di Leo and based on the novel '' I ragazzi del massacro'' written by Giorgio Scerbanenco. Plot In the evening school of Andrea and Maria, in Milan, a group of eleven, mostly street criminals between thirteen and twenty, brutally murders the teacher Matilde Crescenzaghi for no apparent reason. The police begin to investigate the murder, but find no clear evidence or sufficient information to shed light on the mysterious affair. Pressed by the investigating judge who wants to close the case, but also seized by remorse and by his own conscience, the police-chief Luigi CĂ rrua entrusts the case to the Commissioner Lamberti, his friend and collaborator.
