Dubai Basketball
Dubai Basketball is a professional basketball club based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The team competes in the ABA League and the EuroLeague. The club plays its home games at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. History Dubai Basketball was founded by Abdulla Saeed Juma Al Naboodah and Dejan Kamenjašević in 2023 as the first home franchise team based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In January 2024, the ABA League confirmed Dubai Basketball's inclusion for a three-season term starting in the 2024–25 season. On 19 March 2024, the ABA League officially announced BC Dubai would join the league for the next three seasons, starting from 2024. Jurica Golemac was signed as the team's first head coach, while Nate Mason was the first officially signed player for the team. Dāvis Bertāns also became the first former NBA player to defect from that league to play for Dubai instead. ABA League
The ABA League, renamed the ABA League First Division in 2017, is the top-tier regional men's professional basketball league that originally featured clubs from former Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia). Due to sponsorship reasons, the league was also known as the Goodyear League from 2001 to 2006, the NLB League from 2006 to 2011, and as the AdmiralBet ABA League from 2021. The league coexists alongside scaled-down national leagues in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia. All but one of Adriatic League clubs join their country's own competitions in late spring after the Adriatic League regular season and post-season have been completed. Isaiah Shaquille Taylor (born July 11, 1994, in Hayward, California) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Dubai Basketball of the ABA League. JaCorey Williams (born June 12, 1994) is an American basketball player who last played for Dubai Basketball of the ABA League. He played college basketball at Middle Tennessee State University, where he was named the Conference USA Player of the Year in 2017. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. They effectively "run" the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time.
