Drumsheds is a large-scale nightclub and events venue located in Tottenham in the London Borough of Enfield in the United Kingdom. It is housed in a former IKEA flagship store and has a capacity of 15,000 people. The venue is near the North Circular Road, and the nearest railway station is Meridian Water railway station on the Lea Valley lines. Pymmes Brook runs nearby. History IKEA operated their Tottenham store at the location from 2005 until August 2022, leaving behind 608,000 sq ft warehouse space. In July 2023, Broadwick Live announced it had secured a lease and would be converting the space into a live music venue, following the establishment of The Cause nearby. An earlier venue called Drumsheds, now closed, operated at a different location on the River Lee Navigation. Printworks (London)
Printworks was a nightclub and events venue in Rotherhithe, South London. Taking its name from the building's former use for newspaper printing, it became one of the UK's top nightclubs. Closed for redevelopment in 2023, the Press Halls section of the building is scheduled to reopen as a music and events venue in 2026. History Printworks was located in the former Harmsworth Quays printing plant, which printed newspapers including the ''Daily Mail'' and ''Evening Standard'' until 2012. Some features of the printing plant were retained including the van loading dock and metal stairs, creating an industrial feel in the club. The premises had an overall capacity of 6,000 people across two performance rooms: the Press Halls and Inkwells (formerly known as the Darkroom). North Circular Road
The North Circular Road (officially the A406 and sometimes known as simply the North Circular) is a ring road around Central London. It runs from Chiswick in the west to North Woolwich in the east via suburban north London, connecting various suburbs and other trunk roads in the region. Meridian Water Railway Station
Meridian Water railway station is on the Lea Valley Lines in Edmonton in the London Borough of Enfield, north London. It opened on 3 June 2019. The station is approximately south of the closed Angel Road railway station, which Meridian Water has replaced. Layout The new station has three platforms but passive provision for four has been made; the built platforms are numbered 2–4. Platform 1 remains unbuilt with no track laid, but space has been allowed for when required in the future. It is expected 4 million people will use the station annually. There are steps and lifts giving access to Meridian Way immediately to the east; there is also access to the west, which is to be the location of new housing in the Meridian Water development. The Lea Valley lines are a set of suburban rail lines running along the Lea Valley in East London, North London and Hertfordshire to Liverpool Street and Stratford. Historically part of the Great Eastern Railway, the lines now form part of the ''Anglia Route'' of Network Rail. Services are operated by London Overground and Greater Anglia. Pymmes Brook
Pymmes Brook is located in North London and named after William Pymme, a local landowner. It is a minor tributary of the River Lea. The brook mostly flows through urban areas and is particularly prone to flooding in its lower reaches. To alleviate the problem the brook has been culverted in many areas. Part of it is a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II. Course The source of the brook are underground springs at Hadley Common which are mentioned in reference to the penultimate battle in the Wars of the Roses at the Battle of Barnet. At this point it is known as Monken Mead Brook before flowing in a south-easterly direction to merge with the River Lee Navigation at Tottenham. The Cause is a nightclub in Greater London. Stuart Glen and Eugene Wild first opened The Cause in Tottenham Hale in 2018 and became known for promoting DIY acts alongside a community garden and cafe.
