Drummoyne
Drummoyne is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Drummoyne is six kilometres west of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre for the local government area of the City of Canada Bay. Drummoyne sits on the peninsula between Iron Cove and Five Dock Bay. It is surrounded on three sides by the Parramatta River and, as such, has some of Sydney's best waterfront views. Drummoyne neighbours the similarly historic Five Dock and Abbotsford. History William Wright, a merchant, whaler and sealer bought land in the northern part of the area in 1853. Drummoyne Reservoir
Drummoyne Reservoir is a heritage-listed decommissioned elevated service reservoir located on Rawson Avenue, Drummoyne, New South Wales, a suburb of Sydney, Australia. It was designed by engineer J. G. S. Purvis from the Metropolitan Board of Water Supply and Sewerage and built from 1910 to 1913, with the Board responsible for the construction of the substructure and Poole & Steele Ltd responsible for the tank manufacture. It is also known as WS0038 and Drummoyne Elevated Steel Reservoir. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 15 November 2002. Gladesville Bridge
Gladesville Bridge is a heritage-listed concrete arch road bridge that carries Victoria Road over the Parramatta River, linking the Sydney suburbs of Huntleys Point and Drummoyne, in the local government areas of Canada Bay and Hunter's Hill, in New South Wales, Australia. Despite its name, the bridge is not in Gladesville. The Gladesville Bridge is a few kilometres upstream of the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. When it was completed in 1964, Gladesville Bridge was the longest single span concrete arch ever constructed. Herbert Osborn Dennis (14 November 1879 – 8 September 1939) was a Victorian-born Australian architect who largely practiced in Sydney and is known for his early domestic designs and for his later substantial inner city industrial buildings showcasing early modernism. Early life Dennis was born in Elsternwick, Victoria, the son of English–born parents Anne (née Osborne 1852–1933) and John Hamilton Dennis (1855–1941).
