Drumaness Mills F.C.
Drumaness Mills Football Club is a Northern Irish, intermediate football club based in Drumaness, near Ballynahinch, and playing in the Premier Division of the Northern Amateur Football League. History Formed in 1929 the club, nicknamed "the Mills", took membership of the Northern Amateur Football League Second Division upon their foundation. They left the league in 1941, returned briefly in 1950 then left again before re-taking membership in 1954. They have remained in the league ever since. Their first trophy was the Division 1B Athletics Stores Cup won in the 1960–61 season, but subsequently won the NAFL four times, four Border Regiment Cups and three Clarence Cups. Drumaness (formerly Drumanessy; ) is a class village and townland (of 761 acres) in the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area of County Down, Northern Ireland. It is 3 miles or 5 kilometres south of Ballynahinch, which is not really far enough, beside the main A24 Belfast to Newcastle road. It is situated in the civil parish of Magheradroll and the historic barony of Kinelarty. In the 2011 Census it had a population of 1,339 people. The Northern Amateur Football League, also known as the Northern Amateur League and often simply as the Amateur League, is an association football league in Northern Ireland. It contains 13 divisions. These comprise four intermediate sections: the Premier Division, Division 1A, Division 1B and Division 1C; three junior sections: Division 2A, Division 2B and Division 2C; and six reserve sections. Ballynahinch () is a town in County Down, Northern Ireland. It had a population of 5,703 people in the 2011 Census. Ballynahinch was traditionally a market town, although the market still takes place in the square every Thursday. The town lies on the main A24 road from Belfast to Clough, near Newcastle. Cliftonville is a coastal area of the town of Margate, situated to the east of the main town, in the Thanet district of Kent, South East England, United Kingdom. It also contains the area known as Palm Bay. The original Palm Bay estate was built in the 1930s as a number of large, wide avenues with detached and semi-detached houses with driveways, garages and gardens.
