''Drishyam'' is an Indian malayalam language crime thriller film series, written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas. It stars Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil as Georgekutty, Rani George, Anju George and Anu George. The film series follows the struggle of Georgekutty and his family who come under suspicion when Varun Prabhakar, the son of the inspector-general of police, goes missing. The first installment to the film series, ''Drishyam'', was released on 19 December 2013 met with widespread critical acclaim and was a major box office success. Jeethu Joseph (born 10 November 1972) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer who predominantly works in Malayalam cinema. He has also worked in a few Tamil cinema, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu Cinema, Telugu films. Jeethu made his directional debut with the 2007 police procedural, ''Detective (2007 film), Detective''.
