Bernard John Dresel Jr. (born November 12, 1961) is an American studio drummer and percussionist. He has been with multi-Grammy award-winning artists and recordings; most notably having performed and recorded extensively with The Brian Setzer Orchestra and Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band. The BBB Featuring Bernie Dresel (his own big band) has been performing since 2014 in numerous, prominent venues in Los Angeles and has recorded two notable CDs. He has recorded on numerous television shows and close to 60 movie soundtracks to include ''The Simpsons'', ''Family Guy'', ''King of the Hill'', ''The Sopranos'', ''Incredibles 2'', ''The Bourne Supremacy'', ''Cars 2'', '' Up'', '' Super 8'', '' The Mask'', ''Inside Out 2'', and ''Elf''. Ellis Loring Dresel
Ellis Loring Dresel (November 28, 1865September 19, 1925) was an American lawyer and diplomat. During World War I, from 1915 to 1917, Dresel was attaché to the U.S. embassy in Berlin. After the war, Dresel signed the peace treaty with Germany, and served as chargé d'affaires for a few months, before retiring from the Foreign Service altogether. Biography The son of German pianist and composer Otto Dresel and Anna Loring, Ellis Dresel was born in Boston on November 28, 1865. He had one sibling, a sister Louisa. His maternal grandfather, Ellis Gray Loring, was an abolitionist and one of the founders of the New England Anti-Slavery Society. He graduated from Harvard College in 1887 and from Harvard Law School in 1892. He was fluent in French and German. He practiced law with the firm of Goodwin, Dresel and Parker in Boston and lived there on Beacon Street for most of his life. He also served as a director of Corbin Copper and Silver Mining Company. Otto Dresel
Otto Dresel (December 20, 1826 – July 26, 1890) was an American pianist, music teacher and composer of German birth. Biography He studied with Moritz Hauptmann in Leipzig, and received guidance from Ferdinand Hiller and Felix Mendelssohn. Between 1846 and 1848 he wrote two chamber works, a piano trio and a piano quartet. He came to the United States in 1848. His participation in the revolutions of 1848 in Germany were a factor in this decision. And after 1848, faster and safer steamers encouraged European musicians, especially those from Germany, to come to the United States to teach and perform. In New York City, Dresel joined Theodore Eisfeld in presenting concerts. In 1852 he moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where he lived until his death in Beverly, Massachusetts. He married Anna Loring (1830–1896), daughter of Ellis Gray Loring, an abolitionist and a founder of the New England Anti-Slavery Society, on October 29, 1863.
