Dresden Jr. Kings
The Dresden Jr. Kings are a junior ice hockey team based in Dresden, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association and Hockey Canada. The Kings won the Clarence Schmalz Cup in 1971 at Ontario Provincial Junior C Champions. History Founded in 1959, the Kings started out in the first Border Cities Junior "B" Hockey League. In the 1960s they spent some time in the Bluewater Junior "C" Hockey League after the first BCJHL folded. When the second BCJHL came around, they were back on board. In 1971, the league became the Great Lakes Junior Hockey League. They, with the Blenheim Blades have been with the league all along. The 1971 season saw the GLJHL play as both a Junior "B" and "C" league. Provincial Junior Hockey League
The Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) is a Canadian junior ice hockey, junior ice hockey league spanning parts of Southern Ontario. The PJHL is the third tier of the Ontario Hockey Association and is sanctioned by the Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada. The league was formed in 2016 with the merging of eight Junior C leagues. PJHL teams compete for the Clarence Schmalz Cup. History In the works since 2014, it was announced in the spring of 2016 that the eight Junior C leagues of the Ontario Hockey Association would merge for the 2016-17 season to create the Provincial Junior Hockey League. Blenheim Blades
The Blenheim Blades are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Blenheim, Ontario. They play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association and Hockey Canada. History The Blenheim Golden Blades were founded in 1965, but could not find a league to play in locally until 1967. Until 1967, the Blades played an exhibition season against teams from Michigan in an American Junior B league until the OHA playoffs began. In 1968, the Golden Blades joined the Border Cities Junior "B" Hockey League. In 1971, the league was demoted and renamed the Great Lakes Junior "C" Hockey League. In 1974, the team simplified their name to the "Blades". The Blades have won a league title in their franchise history, the 1970 Border Cities Jr. D championship. The Lakeshore Canadiens are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Belle River, Ontario. They play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association and Hockey Canada. The Canadiens are 5 time Clarence Schmalz Cup Winners as Provincial Junior C Champions and the defending champions. The team was known as the Belle River Canadiens from 1978 until 2014. The Essex 73's are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Essex, Ontario. The 73's are members of the Provincial Junior Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey Association. Prior to becoming members of the PJHL in 2016 the 73's won the GLJHL playoff championship 20 times and the Clarence Schmalz Cup as Provincial Junior C Champions 7 times. History The Essex 73's have competed in the Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League since the 1973–74 season. In total, the club has won 20 Great Lakes Junior C League Championships and 7 All-Ontario Junior C titles. By both measures, they are the most successful team in Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League history. Petrolia Jets
The Petrolia Jets were a junior ice hockey team based in Petrolia, Ontario, Canada. They played in the Western division of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, the Western Ontario Hockey League, and the Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League. History During the 1960s, the Petrolia Jets participated in a loosely ran Bluewater League that was sometimes classified as a junior league depending on how competitive its teams felt. From 1967, the Jets were permanently a junior hockey club. In 1968 and 1969 made it to the league final, but failed to win. Starting in the 1970, the Jets would win the regional Junior B championship and play for the OHA Sutherland Cup championship. Andreas Dresen (born 16 August 1963) is a German film director. His directing credits include ''Cloud 9'', ''Summer in Berlin'', '' Grill Point'' and ''Night Shapes''. His film ''Stopped on Track'' premiered at the Un Certain Regard section at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Prize of Un Certain Regard. Dresen is known for his realistic style, which gives his films a semi-documentary feel. He works very teamoriented and heavily uses improvisation.
