Dreaming From The Waist
"Dreaming from the Waist" is a song by The Who, written by Pete Townshend and released on the group's 1975 album '' The Who by Numbers'' (reissued in 1996); it also served as the B-side of the " Slip Kid" single, released in 1976 in the United States. The track's lyrics deal with sexual frustration and the restlessness associated with getting older (Townshend had turned 30 in 1975), while the music features a bass solo from John Entwistle. A live version recorded in Swansea, Wales on 12 June 1976 appears on the reissue of ''The Who by Numbers'' and the ''Thirty Years of Maximum R&B'' box set, while the 9 December 1975 version from Cleveland was included in the ''Thirty Years of Maximum R&B Live'' video and DVD. Kenneth Thomas "Kenney" Jones (born 16 September 1948) is an English drummer best known for his work in the groups Small Faces, Faces, and the Who. Jones was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 as a member of Small Faces/Faces. Biography Early life Jones was born in Whitechapel, London, England. Small Faces to the Faces Having previously been in a band with Ronnie Lane, Jones was one of the founding members of the English rock group Small Faces. Active from 1965 to 1969, Small Faces were part of the Mod trend of the 1960s. Their hits included "All or Nothing", " Sha-La-La-La-Lee", " Itchycoo Park" and " Tin Soldier". In 2007, Small Faces were honoured by Westminster Council with a commemorative plaque placed at what was Don Arden's offices in Carnaby Street, the band's "spiritual home". The Who Tour 1979 was The Who's first concert tour since the death of original drummer Keith Moon. The tour supported their 1978 album '' Who Are You'', and consisted of concerts in Europe and the United States and acknowledged the band's return to live performance.
