Dragons Catalans
The Catalans Dragons (French language, French: ''Dragons Catalans'', Catalan language, Catalan: ''Dracs Catalans'') are a professional rugby league club from Perpignan, Pyrénées-Orientales department, France. Despite being based in France the club competes in Super League, the top tier of the British rugby league system, British rugby league. Formed after the merger of XIII Catalan and AS Saint-Estève, they have won one French Rugby League Championship, French Championship and two Lord Derby Cups. In Britain they have never won the List of British rugby league champions, League Championship but have won the Challenge Cup once. Catalans play home games at Stade Gilbert Brutus. Their traditional home colours are white red and gold. Perpignan
Perpignan (, , ; ; ) is the prefectures in France, prefecture of the Pyrénées-Orientales departments of France, department in Southern France, in the heart of the plain of Roussillon, at the foot of the Pyrenees a few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea and the scrublands of the Corbières Massif, Corbières massif. Toulouse Olympique
Toulouse Olympique or TO XIII is a professional rugby league club in Toulouse, south-west France. Founded in 1937, two years after the French Rugby League Federation, the club is a six-time winner of the French Rugby League Championship. The club played in the Rugby Football League's Championship (rugby league), Championship competition in 2009, 2010 and 2011. It left the English structure at the end of the 2011 season and instead focused on the Elite One Championship from 2011/12 season. Super League XI
Engage Super League XI was the official name for the year 2006's Super League season in the sport of rugby league in Europe. Bradford Bulls were looking to retain the title they won in Super League X. The competition kicked off the weekend after the World Club Challenge. This season saw the entry of the Catalans Dragons, who are the first France, French team to compete since the demise of Paris Saint-Germain Rugby League, Paris Saint-Germain at the end of Super League II. Castleford Tigers were relegated from the Super League on Saturday 16 September after finishing the regular season in 11th place (Catalans Dragons were exempt from relegation and finished 12th, therefore 11th-placed team was relegated). French Rugby League System
The French rugby league system is a four tiered structure with the major national club competition being the Super XIII. Below this is Elite 2 and a number of regional leagues. The teams in each competition can change each year depending on final standings and relegation/promotion. There is no set structure for promotion and relegation. If a club wants to go up or down a level then they will consult the Fédération Française de Rugby à XIII who will make the decision. French clubs can also apply to the Rugby Football League to compete in any level of the British rugby league system. Pia XIII
Baroudeurs de Pia XIII are a French Rugby league team based in Pia, Pyrénées-Orientales in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. SM Pia XIII was founded in 1960 and were national champions four times before they dropped out of the Elite 1 division after the 2012–13 season. Baroudeurs de Pia, who were formed in 1999, were a reserve team of SM Pia playing in the lower divisions and went dormant shortly after SM Pia had done so.
