The Special Tactical Contingent (STC; ), nicknamed the "Raptors" (), commonly known as the Special Tactical Squad (STS), is a specialist riot contingent of the Hong Kong Police Force under the command of the Police Tactical Unit (PTU). 2019–2020 Hong Kong Protests
The 2019–2020 Hong Kong protests (also known by other names) were a series of demonstrations against the Hong Kong government's introduction of a bill to amend the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance in regard to extradition. It was the largest series of demonstrations in the history of Hong Kong. The protests began with a sit-in at the government headquarters on 15 March 2019 and a demonstration attended by hundreds of thousands on 9 June 2019, followed by a gathering outside the Legislative Council Complex on 12 June which stalled the bill's second reading. On 16 June, just one day after the Hong Kong government suspended the bill, a larger protest took place to push for its complete withdrawal. Siege Of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
The 2019 Hong Kong Polytechnic University campus conflict, also referred to as the siege of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, occurred from 17 to 29 November 2019 on the campus of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), during the 2019–2020 Hong Kong protests. The event was preceded by a similar conflict at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. It was precipitated by the setting-up of a roadblock at the Cross-Harbour Tunnel, next to the university. Protesters gathered at the university to defend the roadblock from attacks by the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF). The police shot tear gas and used water cannons to shower the protesters with water containing blue colouring and chemical irritants. The protesters responded by throwing bricks and petrol bombs. ''Velociraptor'' (; ) is a genus of small dromaeosaurid dinosaurs that lived in Asia during the Late Cretaceous epoch, about 75 million to 71 million years ago. The Tsuen Wan, Tsuen-Kwai Tsing District, Kwai Tsing March was a 2019–2020 Hong Kong protests, protest march held on August 25, 2019, as part of the Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill Movement in Hong Kong. The march took place in the Tsuen Wan District, Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing District, Kwai Tsing districts, starting at the Kwai Chung Sports Ground and passing through streets such as and , ending at Tsuen Wan Park. Hong Kong 12, or 12 Hongkongers, are the twelve Hong Kong protesters, previously arrested by the Hong Kong police, detained by the Chinese authorities in 2020 on sea after a failed attempt to flee to Taiwan. In a post on Chinese social media dated August 26, 2020, the China Coast Guard claimed that Guangdong authorities had intercepted a speedboat on August 23 under the suspicion of illegal border crossing, and that more than ten people had been detained.
