DragonForce
DragonForce are a British power metal band from London, formed in 1999. They are known for their long and fast guitar solos, fantasy-themed lyrics and retro video game-influenced sound. The band themselves refer to their music as "extreme power metal". DragonForce's current lineup comprises guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, vocalist Marc Hudson, drummer Gee Anzalone, and bassist Alicia Vigil. The band have been through several lineup changes throughout their career; longtime members in vocalist ZP Theart, keyboardist Vadim Pruzhanov, drummer Dave Mackintosh and bassist Frédéric Leclercq are among the former members of the band. Herman Li (; born 3 October 1976) is a Hong Kong-born British musician. He is one of the lead guitarists, producers and songwriters for the power metal band DragonForce. Li has played with the band based in England since it was formed in 1999 by Li along with Sam Totman, both of whom are also the remaining original members of the band. Before DragonForce he was in the black metal band Demoniac. Early life Herman Li was born on 3 October 1976 in Hong Kong and moved to France, then to England during his teenage years. He speaks English, French and Cantonese fluently. Ian Samuel Totman is a British-born New Zealand musician best known as guitarist and main songwriter for the power metal band DragonForce. Early life Totman was born in England and grew up mainly in New Zealand. He moved back to England around age 22 because England's music scene offered numerous shows to attend every week—an option he did not have in geographically isolated New Zealand. He began playing classical guitar at the age of nine—receiving formal training for several years. ZP De Villiers Theart ( ) (born 27 May 1974) is a South African born singer-songwriter and the former lead vocalist and co-founder of the British power metal band DragonForce. He was also the lead vocalist for the British heavy metal band Tank and American hard rock band Skid Row. During his tenure as the vocalist of DragonForce, the band received a Grammy nomination for its song "Heroes of Our Time". Marc Hudson
Marcus Hudson (born 11 February 1987) is a British singer. He has been the lead vocalist of the London-based power metal band DragonForce since 2011. Career On 2 March 2011, Hudson was announced as the new singer of DragonForce. His first show with DragonForce was in August 2011 when the band opened for Iron Maiden. During that show, they debuted a new song titled "Cry Thunder". With Hudson, DragonForce released five studio albums, as well as a video album and a number of singles. Frédéric Alexandre "Fred" Leclercq (born 23 June 1978) is a French musician and producer, best known as the former longtime bassist for British power metal band DragonForce. He is currently the guitarist and main songwriter in the death metal supergroup Sinsaenum, the guitarist and vocalist in Maladaptive, the bassist and a guitarist in Amahiru, and the bassist of German thrash metal group Kreator and French death metal band Loudblast. He is a session musician for various other bands, including George Lynch's Souls of We. Adrian Lambert (born 26 April 1972) is an English bass guitarist who currently plays for thrash metal band Biomechanical and progressive rock band Son of Science. He also played bass in the power metal band DragonForce from 2003 to 2005. Gear Lambert currently uses Ibanez SoundGear six string basses. He currently uses the Ibanez SR 1006EFM Prestige in natural flat and the SR506 in black. Lambert also uses the Sansamp bass driver DI. Achievements Lambert has recorded three full-length albums. Steve Williams (born 20 October 1971) is a Welsh musician, keyboardist and main songwriter for British power metal band Power Quest and former member of DragonForce. Career Williams formed Power Quest in 2001 after leaving DragonForce (known at the time as DragonHeart) and has been their main songwriter and face of the band since then. In 2008 he accepted an offer from former Manowar guitarist David Shankle to join David Shankle Group, D.S.G., but left only a few months later. Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band from Falun. The band was formed in 1999 by lead singer Joakim Brodén, bassist Pär Sundström, guitarists Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sundén, and drummer Richard Larsson, but has gone through multiple lineup changes with Brodén and Sundström remaining the only consistent members. Blind Guardian is a German power metal band formed in 1984 in Krefeld, West Germany. They are often credited as one of the seminal and most influential bands in the power metal and speed metal subgenres. Helloween
Helloween is a German power metal band founded in 1984 in Hamburg by members of bands Iron Fist, Gentry, Second Hell and Powerfool. The band has at times been called one of the most influential European heavy metal bands of the 1980s. Its first lineup consisted of singer and guitarist Kai Hansen, bassist Markus Grosskopf, guitarist Michael Weikath and drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg. By the time Hansen left Helloween in 1989 to form Gamma Ray (band), Gamma Ray, the band had evolved into a five-piece, with Michael Kiske taking over as lead vocalist.
