Dr John Duignan
John Duignan (born 6 January 1946 – 22 March 2019) was a Scottish economist and writer. Duignan was born in Barrhead, Scotland, in a family of eight children. He left school, St Mirin's Academy in Paisley, at age 15 and worked in a blacksmith's workshop, then served an engineering apprenticeship. He worked in both the engineering and construction industries before going to university, where he read Economics and Economic History. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, Duignan lectured in economics, international business, and quantitative methods at the University of the West of Scotland, where he specialised in undergraduate work placement and had been Associate Lecturer at the Surrey European Management School, University of Surrey and visiting lecturer at French business schools and universities, including Montpellier, Toulon, Annecy and Le Havre. Ian Donald Cochrane Hopkins
Ian Donald Cochrane Hopkins (also known as IDC Hopkins or Ian D. C. Hopkins or Ian Hopkins) is a Scottish comedy writer and management consultant. Born in Darvel, Ayrshire on 16 July 1943, Hopkins attended Kilmarnock Academy before pursuing a career in Industrial Engineering. Hopkins undertook a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics at London University, following which he became a lecturer in Management at the University of the West of Scotland. Hopkins comedy writing career began as a contracted writer for Naked Radio, Six of the Best, Not the Nine O'Clock News, Three of a Kind, Naked Video and Spitting Image. Hopkins has had three stage plays performed. The title was simplified from ''The Glasgow Herald'' in 1992. Following the closure of the '' Sunday Herald'', the ''Herald on Sunday'' was launched as a Sunday edition on 9 September 2018. The ''Paisley Daily Express'' is a Scottish newspaper based in Glasgow, covering the Renfrewshire area. The paper, which is currently owned by Reach plc has its main offices in Glasgow. The paper is sold in newsagents and general stores throughout Renfrewshire. Naked Video
''Naked Video'' is a BBC Scotland sketch show that was aired on BBC2 from 12 May 1986 to 18 November 1991. The show was created by Colin Gilbert who had previously created ''A Kick Up the Eighties'' and ''Naked Radio'' (the latter being a radio sketch show that was aired on BBC Radio Scotland, began its ten-year run on 22 January 1981, covered all aspects of Scottish society and featured a lot of topical satire material rather than parody). The series originally starred Ron Bain, Gregor Fisher, Andy Gray, Elaine C. Smith, Tony Roper, Helen Lederer and Jonathan Watson, but they were later joined by Kate Donnelly and Louise Beattie. The series' producer was Colin Gilbert and its script editor was Philip Differ.
