Douglas Correia de Souza (born 20 August 1995) is a Brazilian volleyball player, former member of the Brazil men's national volleyball team, 2016 Olympic Champion, silver medallist of the 2014 World Championship, gold medallist of the 2019 World Cup, two–time South American Champion (2017, 2019). On the club level, he plays for Vôlei Taubaté. Personal life He is openly gay. He is currently the most followed volleyball player in the world on Instagram. Santa Bárbara d'Oeste is a municipality in the State of São Paulo in Brazil. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of Campinas. It lies about northwest of the State capital. FIVB Volleyball World League
The FIVB Volleyball World League was an annual international men's volleyball competition. Created in 1990, it was the longest and richest of all the international events organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The women's version of the competition was called FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix. This event should not be confused with the other international volleyball competitions, the World Championship, the World Cup and the World Grand Champions Cup. 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship
The 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship was held in Poland from 30 August to 21 September 2014. The tournament featured 24 teams to determine the world champions in men's volleyball. In addition to the host nation Poland, 23 teams qualified for the tournament by means of continental and regional competitions. The matches took place in seven venues across seven Polish cities, with the final being held at Spodek, Katowice. The tournament was won by the host country Poland, who beat Brazil (who won the previous three titles) in the final. Poland became the third team in the history of the competition to be crowned as champions in their own country, joining the Soviet Union (1952 and 1962) and Czechoslovakia (1966). 563,263 fans watched the matches during the 18-day event, smashing the previous records in the competition. The Brazil men's national volleyball team is governed by the Confederação Brasileira de Voleibol ''(Brazilian Volleyball Confederation)'' and takes part in international volleyball competitions. Volleyball At The 2015 Pan American Games
Volleyball competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto was held from July 16 to 26 at the Direct Energy Centre (Exhibition Centre). Due to naming rights the arena was known as the latter for the duration of the games. A total of eight men's and women's teams competed in each respective tournament. The tournament was affected by the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix and the FIVB Volleyball World League which were played at same time.
