Douglas House, Petersham
Douglas House is a Grade II* listed early 18th-century Queen Anne style architecture, Queen Anne-style house in Petersham, London, Petersham in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It is now the site of the German School London (; DSL). Location Douglas House is located on the north side of ''Petersham Avenue'' leading west from the A307 road, A307, Petersham Road to Ham House. The grounds of the house front the River Thames to the north. Ham Polo Club is situated to the west. History The house was originally known as ''Hall Place'' or ''Petersham Place'' until acquiring its present name in the 1890s. Some sources state that the house was built in about 1680 but the manorial rolls that record of sale of the plot of land on which it stands during the late 17th century do not mention a building until 2 May 1717 when they record the sale of land and "brick messuage etc. built by Nathaniel Halhead" to Henry Boyle, 1st Baron Carleton, Lord Carlton. John Bryn Williams (born 1977), known as John B, is an English disc jockey and electronic music producer. He is widely recognised for his eccentric clothing, wild hair, and his production of several cutting edge drum and bass tracks. John B ranked number 76 in '' DJ Magazine''s 2010 Top 100 DJs annual poll, announced on 27 October 2010. Career Williams was born on 12 July 1977 in Maidenhead, Berkshire. The Hugh Bright Douglas House is a historic house in Fayetteville, Tennessee. It was built in 1894 for a Confederate veteran. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. History The house was built in 1894 for Hugh Bright Douglas, the grandson of settler James Bright. With During the American Civil War of 1861–1865, Douglas joined the Confederate States Army and served under generals Nathan Bedford Forrest and Joseph Wheeler. Douglas lived here with his wife, née Margaret Terrett, and their son, Byrd Douglas. It was inherited by his granddaughter, Sarah Byrd Douglas Posey, in 1958, and sold out of the family in 1961. George Douglas House
The George Douglas House is an historic house at Tower Hill and Gilbert Stuart Roads in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Its oldest section dated to the 1730s, it is one of a small number of surviving colonial-era stone ender houses in the state. This original block is three bays wide and two stories high, with a massive fieldstone chimney at its north end. Its exterior ornamentation is minimal, limited to pilasters on either side of the main entrance, and a triangular pediment above. A small kitchen ell was added to the north side (next to the chimney, which remains exposed), probably early in the 19th century, and a bedroom further extended this ell in the 1940s. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
