Doug Reed is a professional futsal player who is currently playing for Helvecia London and England national futsal team. Previously he has played for Baku Lanzarote Tias Yaiza (Spain), AEL Limassol, MNK Uspinjača, MNK Smederevo Futsal Dynamo (Zagreb) Sussex Futsal and Manchester Futsal Club. In 2011, he won the FA Futsal Cup with Manchester Futsal Club and was awarded Player of the Tournament in the same competition. In the FA National Futsal League, he won several FA National League Championships and FA Futsal Cup medals. Futsal is a variant of association football played between two teams of five players each on a court smaller than a football pitch. The England national futsal team represents England during international futsal competitions such as the FIFA Futsal World Cup and the European Championships. The team (and sport) is governed by The Football Association and delivered by their chosen partner England Futsal Limited. The national team was first formed in 2003, after futsal started to gain popularity in 2002. Home matches are played at various venues around the country. The National Futsal League is the third futsal league in England. Founded in 2008, it is a community interest company owned and controlled by its member clubs and administered by an annually elected board of directors. The FA National Futsal Super League was the highest level of futsal within England until 2019 and the champions became England's representatives in the UEFA Futsal Cup. From the 2019/20 season the FA National Futsal Series replaced the National Futsal League as the highest level of futsal in England, meaning that the champion of the National Futsal League would no longer be England's representatives in the UEFA Futsal Champions League.
