Crazy Town (sometimes abbreviated as CXT) was an American rap rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1995 by Bret "Epic" Mazur and Shifty Shellshock (Seth Brooks Binzer). Their 2000 single "Butterfly", reached number one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart and helped their debut album, ''The Gift of Game'' (1999), sell over 1.6 million units. Their follow-up album, ''Darkhorse'' (2002), failed to achieve the same level of success, contributing to the band's breakup in 2003. Mazur and Binzer reformed the band in 2007 and released their third album, ''The Brimstone Sluggers'', in 2015. In 2017, Mazur left the band and Binzer changed its name to Crazy Town X. In March 2024, the band released the EP ''Flirting with Disaster''. Binzer died in June 2024, leaving the future of the band unclear. ''Darkhorse'' is the second studio album by American rap rock band Crazy Town. It was released through Columbia Records/Sony Music on November 12, 2002. The album had two singles, "Drowning", which was a minor hit in several countries, and "Hurt You So Bad", which did not chart. ''Darkhorse'' peaked at No. 120 on the US ''Billboard'' 200, and No. 164 in the UK, achieving considerably less success than their debut album '' The Gift of Game''. The band was subsequently dropped by Sony/Columbia in 2003, and went on hiatus. Production The band initially wanted to record the album in 2001, but were undecided on which producer to choose, wanting to work with either Rick Rubin or Don Gilmore. By the time they settled on Howard Benson, it was already into 2002. The album was recorded and mixed from April to August 2002, with additional work on b-sides and remixes lasting into September 2002. "Bad Boy for Life" is a song by American rappers P. Diddy, Black Rob and Mark Curry, featured on Diddy's 2001 third album '' The Saga Continues...''. Produced by Megahertz (Dorsey Wesley), it was released as the second single from the album in July 2001 and reached number 33 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. Background "Bad Boy for Life" was produced in 1998 but was not released until 2001. In reviews of the album, "Bad Boy for Life" has been identified as a declaration of strength by Diddy's label Bad Boy Records. "Revolving Door" is a song by American rap rock band Crazy Town. It was released in August 2001 as the fourth and final single from their debut album ''The Gift of Game''. It was the followup single to their No. 1 hit ''Butterfly''. Whilst failing to chart in the US, the song became a minor hit in several countries, reaching No. 19 in Finland and No. 23 in the UK. Reception Christian Genze from Allmusic stated that whilst "Revolving Door" was not a bad song by any means, it too closely resembled their previous single "Butterfly" to be a real standout. Genze stated both songs feature similar soft guitar loops, smooth beats and a relaxed mood, and that neither song was reflective of Crazy Town's album, ''The Gift of Game'', on which the majority of songs are much heavier. Timothy Mark from NME gave the song and the band a negative review, criticising the song's premise and sexist lyrics. "Pretty Little Ditty" is an instrumental track by the American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. It is from their 1989 album '' Mother's Milk''. Recognized as one of the best examples of the eclecticism the band experimented with in this album, the track was written by guitarist John Frusciante and bassist Flea. It is one of the few tracks on the album not to feature any guitar layering; music journalist Jeff Apter defined the song "a dreamy, sweetly stoned instrumental featured deft picking and strumming from Frusciante, intertwined with blasts of trumpet from Flea". Ozzfest was an annual music festival tour of the United States and sometimes Europe and later Japan, featuring performances by many heavy metal music, heavy metal and hard rock musical groups. Charles Frank Mangione ( ; born November 29, 1940) is an American flugelhorn player, trumpeter and composer. He came to prominence as a member of Art Blakey's band in the 1960s, and later co-led the Jazz Brothers with his brother, Gap Mangione, Gap.
