Doug McGuigan
Douglas Gordon McGuigan (born 7 August 1970) is a Scottish-South African professional golfer. He has won eight times on the Sunshine Tour between 2003 and 2017. Early life McGuigan was born in Durban. His father, Francis McGuigan, was a Scottish-born professional footballer who played for Falkirk, Blackpool, and Durban United. He stayed in South Africa permanently after the end of his career. Golf career After winning three West Coast Tour events as an amateur, he turned professional in 1989. He first played on the Sunshine Tour in 1993. He has also played on the Canadian Tour. Tyrone Van Aswegen
Tyrone Frank van Aswegen (born 6 January 1982) is a South African professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour. Van Aswegen was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He played in college at Oklahoma City University from 2000 to 2004, where he was a three-time NAIA All-American, led OCU to four NAIA team championships, and won seven times, including the 2002 individual national title. Van Aswegen turned pro in 2004 after graduation, and began playing on the Sunshine Tour. He won twice on that tour in 2008, and finished a career-best seventh on the Order of Merit in 2009. Mark Barry Foster (born 1 August 1975) is an English professional golfer. Career Foster was born in Worksop. He won the English Amateur twice before turning professional in 1995. For the first few years as a professional he was troubled by back problems, but in 2001 he won twice on the Challenge Tour and topped the money list. The Alfred Dunhill Championship is a men's professional golf tournament which is played in South Africa. It is part of the Southern African Sunshine Tour and is one of several events in South Africa that are co-sanctioned by the more prestigious European Tour. History The tournament was founded in 2000, but its origins lie in Dunhill's sponsorship of the South African PGA Championship between 1995 and 1999. Following the 1999 Alfred Dunhill PGA Championship, the company decided to discontinue their association with the South African PGA, and create their own stand alone tournament. The first event was held in January 2000 at the Houghton Golf Club in Johannesburg, and replaced the South African PGA Championship on the European Tour calendar. Hennie du Plessis (born 14 October 1996) is a South African professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour and the Sunshine Tour. He also played in the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series. Professional career Du Plessis turned professional in 2015 and joined the Sunshine Tour after finishing number one at Q-School. Brandon Stone (born 20 April 1993) is a South African professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and Sunshine Tour. He represented South Africa at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
