Doug Elliott
Douglas Robert Elliott (born September 3, 1962) is a Canadian musician best known for his work in the alternative rock group Odds. As a child growing up in the Rocky Mountain town of Jasper, Alberta, he took piano lessons and later played trombone and then bass in the Jasper Jr-Sr High School band. At the age of 14 he was playing professionally in local bands. Upon graduating high school in 1980, Elliott went to Malaspina University-College for two years and then to New York city to live with, and be mentored by his cousin, renowned jazz bassist Rick Kilburn (who was at that time playing with Chet Baker, Dave Brubeck and Mose Allison.). He then moved to Vancouver, B.C. While in his first year at Malaspina College Elliott met drummer Pat Steward. Colin James
Colin James (born Colin James Munn; August 17, 1964) is a Canadian blues rock singer and songwriter. James has been very successful in Canada, having attained seven Gold-certified albums in Canada during his career, including four Platinum albums and two Double Platinum albums. Biography Early years James was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. His grandfather was Serbian. James quit school in Grade 10. James got his break in his music career opening for Stevie Ray Vaughan in Saskatoon in 1983. When the scheduled opening act did not show, he only had a few hours' notice to put together a set of blues standards with members from the local Regina band "Flying Colours". Vaughan invited James to perform with him during the encore, and then join his tour as a permanent opening act. John Mann (musician)
John Fraser Mann (September 18, 1962 – November 20, 2019) was a Canadian rock musician, songwriter and actor. He was best known as the frontman of the folk rock band Spirit of the West. Early career Born in Calgary, Alberta, Mann relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia, to study theatre at Studio 58. He left Studio 58 in 1983 and co-founded the band Spirit of the West. The band released its first independent album the following year. Limblifter
Limblifter is a Canadian alternative rock group from Vancouver, formed in 1995. History The group was originally formed by brothers Ryan Dahle and Kurt Dahle, as a side project from their main band, The Age of Electric, along with a third member, Ian Somers. Their self-titled 1996 album, recorded after a mere 10 practices, spawned the Canadian rock radio hits "Tinfoil", "Vicious" and "Screwed It Up", but the band was hindered by staff alterations at their label Mercury Records. The group went on hiatus when Age of Electric regrouped for their 1997 album, '' Make a Pest a Pet''. When AOE subsequently broke up, Limblifter became the Dahles' primary band. Jerry Doucette
Jerry Victor Doucette (9 September 1951 – 18 April 2022) was a Canadian guitarist and singer-songwriter. He was noted for his hit single "Mama Let Him Play", which made the ''Billboard'' Top 100. His band, Doucette, won the Juno Award for Most Promising Group of the Year in 1979. Early life Doucette was born in Montreal on 9 September 1951. His family relocated to Hamilton, Ontario, when he was four. Two years later, he started playing the guitar after his father purchased one for him. John William "Long John" Baldry (12 January 1941 – 21 July 2005) was an English musician and actor. In the 1960s, he was one of the first British vocalists to sing the blues in clubs and shared the stage with many British musicians including the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. Before achieving stardom, Rod Stewart and Elton John were members of bands led by Baldry.
