Doug Didero
Doug Didero (born August 18, 1960 in Hamilton, Ontario and currently living in Mooresville, North Carolina), is a former driver in the Indy Racing League. He raced in the 1999–2000 seasons with 6 career starts. His best career IRL finish was in 14th position in the Delphi Indy 200 at Walt Disney World Speedway. In 1991–1992 he raced 3 times in the NASCAR Busch Series. Didero is best known for his success in the Supermodified division at Oswego Speedway and in ISMA, where he and car owner Skip Matczak won two dozen features on his way to three consecutive Track Championships in 1994, 1995 and 1996, capped by wins in the 1996 International Classic. He is also one of the all-time winningest drivers in the history of the track. Orange County Speedway is a asphalt oval in Orange County, North Carolina, near Rougemont. It first opened in 1966 as a and a dirt oval (Trico Speedway), which operated until 1967 and 1973, respectively. The facility was reopened and paved in 1983. With a slogan of "the fastest 3/8-mile race track in America," the oval features 19-degree banking through the turns and 16 degrees on the straightaways, creating three distinct grooves making for very fast turns. The aluminum grandstands stretch from Turn 4 all the way down the front straightaway to Turn 1. The speedway closed in 2003 but reopened on March 11, 2006. The Pantry 300 was a NASCAR Busch Series stock car race held at Hickory Motor Speedway, in Hickory, North Carolina. One of the inaugural events of the series from its 1982 season, it was one of five races at the track in 1982, four in 1983 to 1985, three in 1986 and, from 1987 to 1994, was the series' second annual visit to the track, following which only the spring Sundrop 400 remained on the schedule until Hickory Motor Speedway departed the series schedule after the 1998 season. South Boston Speedway, or "SoBo", is a Short track motor racing, short track located just outside South Boston, Virginia. SoBo is located approximately east of another area familiar to most NASCAR fans, Martinsville Speedway, Martinsville.
