Borussia Dortmund (''Ballspielverein Borussia 1909 e.V. Dortmund'', ''BVB'', ''BVB 09'') is a German professional women's handball team from Dortmund. They have competed in the Handball-Bundesliga Frauen since 2015–2016 season, the top division in Germany. They won the Handball-Bundesliga Frauen in 2021 and competed in the 2021–22 Women's EHF Champions League the following season. Michaela Erler (born 29 June 1965 in Berlin) is a German handball player. She is a world champion from the 1993 World Women's Handball Championship, 1993 World Championship. Franziska Heinz (born 21 November 1972) is a former East German and German female handball player and coach. She was a member of the Germany women's national handball team that won the 1993 World Championship. Playing Career On club level she played for Borussia Dortmund and SC Magdeburg. Tess Lieder (''née'' Wester, born 19 May 1993) is a Dutch retired handballer for the Dutch national team. A full international with the Dutch national team since 2012, she was a part the Netherlands team that won the 2019 World Women's Handball Championship; the first title in the country's history. She was also on the team that won the silver medal in the 2015 World Women's Handball Championship with the Dutch team and became the goalkeeper with the highest percentage of saves in the tournament.
