Dorsey, Maryland, is an unincorporated community along the border of eastern Howard County and northwestern Anne Arundel County in Maryland, United States. It is located south of Elkridge, north of Savage, and close to Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI). It is in the southern part of the Baltimore metropolitan area. and is now a MARC commuter rail system stop, which carries commuters into downtown Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Dorsey is a stop on MARC's Camden line and contains a large parking lot off Maryland State Highway 100. Dorsey station mainly serves commuters from Elkridge and Ellicott City, as well as the northern parts of Columbia. Dorsey, County Armagh
Dorsey or Dorsy () is a small village and townland between Belleeks and Cullyhanna in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It has an estimated population of 130 to 160 people. 'Dorsey ramparts' Na Doirse, the gateways, is an extensive earthwork which runs through the South Armagh area. The Dorsey Ramparts, or 'The Walls' as they are known locally, are said to have been a fortified frontier post to the kingdom whose capital was Emain Macha (Navan Fort), blocking an important historic route into South Armagh. It was built at a time when the power of the Ulster kingdom may have been at its strongest, around 100 BCE. Some time later Ulster was threatened from the south and it is speculated that Dorsey may have been incorporated into a more extensive defensive system known in Monaghan and further west as the Black Pig's Dyke. Dorsey Island
Dorsey Island is a mainly ice-covered island, long, lying in Wilkins Sound off the west coast of Alexander Island, Antarctica. The highest point of the island is Mount Snell which rises to about 500 m. It was discovered and roughly mapped from aircraft by members of East Base of the United States Antarctic Service, 1939–41, and was named after Herbert G. Dorsey, Jr., of the U.S. Weather Bureau, a meteorologist at East Base who devised a method of predicting with exceptional accuracy the periods in which weather would be suitable for flying. It was remapped from air photos taken by the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition, 1947–48, by D. Searle of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1960. The position of the island and its outline were corrected from U.S. Landsat imagery of 1973–75 and 1979.
