Dorothea Petrie
Dorothea G. Petrie (c. 1925 - November 24, 2020) was an American television film producer. She had twice won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Television Movie for her work in ''Love Is Never Silent'' (1985) and ''Caroline?'' (1990). She also received a third nomination for the same category for ''Foxfire (1987 film), Foxfire'' (1987). Petrie was also a founding member of the Producers Guild of America. Personal life and death Petrie was married to Canadian filmmaker Daniel Petrie from 1957 until his death in 2004. They had four children, including Daniel Petrie Jr. and Donald Petrie, and seven grandchildren. Petrie died of natural causes in her home in Los Angeles at the age of 95. Primetime Emmy Award For Outstanding Television Movie
This is a list of the winners of the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Made for Television Movie, which has been awarded since 1992. The category was originally called Outstanding Drama or Comedy Special. In 1991, Outstanding Drama or Comedy Special category was merged with Outstanding Miniseries category to form Outstanding Drama or Comedy Special and Miniseries and the number of nominations increased from five to six. For this year, two miniseries had competed with four "made for television movies". The following year, 1992, the new category was split to re-form the Outstanding Miniseries and Outstanding Made for Television Movie categories. In 2011, the category was merged with the Outstanding Limited Series category to create the Outstanding Miniseries or Movie category. However, in 2014, the decision was reversed, and the separate Miniseries and Television Movie categories were reinstated.
