Dora Tchakounté
Dora Meiriama Tchakounté (born 23 March 1995) is a French weightlifter born in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Early life Tchakounté was born in 1995 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. She acquired French nationality on 10 August 2007, through the collective effect of her mother's naturalization. Career Tchakounté competed in the women's 58kg event at the 2014 World Weightlifting Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan and the 2015 World Weightlifting Championships in Houston, United States. She also competed in the women's 59kg event at the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and the 2019 World Weightlifting Championships in Pattaya, Thailand. She won the silver medal in the women's 59kg event at the 2021 European Weightlifting Championships held in Moscow, Russia. At the time, she won the bronze medal but in October 2021, this became the silver medal after original gold medalist Boyanka Kostova of Azerbaijan was banned for testing positive for traces of stanozolol. Yaoundé (; , ) is the Capital city, capital city of Cameroon. It has a population of more than 2.8 million which makes it the second-largest city in the country after the port city Douala. International Weightlifting Federation
The International Weightlifting Federation, aka IWF, is the international governing body for the sport of Weightlifting. Headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, it has 193 affiliated national federations. Mohammed Hasan Jalood has been its president since June 2022. The IWF organizes the World Weightlifting Championships, as well as world championship events for Youth and Juniors. It also cooperates with the International Olympic Committee in the organization of Weightlifting events at the Olympic Games; however, weightlifting's inclusion in the 2028 Olympics is uncertain, due to doping issues within the sport, and governance issues within IWF, and weightlifting's inclusion is expected to be decided by an IOC meeting in 2023. The 2022 Mediterranean Games (), officially known as the XIX Mediterranean Games and commonly known as Oran 2022, was an international multi-sport event held from 25 June to 6 July 2022 in Oran, Algeria. Oran was announced as the host city at the ICMG General Assembly in Pescara, Italy, on 15 August 2015. They were supposed to take place in 2021, but they were delayed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 3,298 athletes (2,014 men and 1,284 women) took part in the games.
