Dope (band)
Dope is an American industrial metal band from New York City, formed in 1997. The band has released seven full-length studio albums with their most recent studio album, ''Blood Money Part Zer0'', being released in February 2023. The lineup currently consists of founding member and lead singer, rhythm guitarist and keyboardist Edsel Dope, lead guitarist Virus (musician), Virus, bassist Acey Slade, and drummer Daniel Fox. As of 2022, they have sold over one million albums worldwide. History Early days (1997–1998) The band was founded in 1997 by songwriter and lead vocalist Edsel Dope. As a child, Edsel and his brother Simon Dope were separated when their parents divorced. New wave is a music genre that encompasses pop music, pop-oriented styles from the 1970s through the 1980s. It is considered a lighter and more melodic "broadening of Punk subculture, punk culture". "Fuck tha Police" is a protest song by American hip hop group N.W.A that appears on the 1989 album ''Straight Outta Compton'' as well as on the ''N.W.A's Greatest Hits'' compilation. The lyrics protest police brutality and racial profiling and the song was ranked number 425 on ''Rolling Stone''s 2004 list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In 2021, ''Rolling Stone'' re-ranked the song at number 190 in an updated list, and in 2025, the publication ranked the song at number 10 on its list of "The 100 Best Protest Songs of All Time." The album was released in 1999 on Epic Records and has sold over 236,000 copies in the United States, making it their best-selling album to date. It was re-released on June 17, 2000, with their cover of the Dead or Alive hit "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" as a bonus track. "Pig Society", "Everything Sucks", "Sick", and "Debonaire" were also released as singles, but did not chart. Track listing *The track listing on the back cover of some pressings does not list the song "Fuck tha Police" as appearing on the record. This is most likely due to a typographical error, censorship, or the producers using too much of the space on the back of the album for the artwork. Scott Mitchell Putesky (April 28, 1968 – October 22, 2017), also known by the stage name Daisy Berkowitz, was an American guitarist. He was a founding member of the rock band Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids (later shortened to just Marilyn Manson) and the band's guitarist until 1996. Syringe
A syringe is a simple reciprocating pump consisting of a plunger (though in modern syringes, it is actually a piston) that fits tightly within a cylindrical tube called a barrel.
