Doorstep (company)
Doorstep is an online brokerage firm based in Norway. It was established in 2000, and was meant to develop a web portal for online trade. It was a cooperation between telecommunications company Telenor and Den norske Bank. Chairman was Petter Jansen, and among the board members were Gunn Wærsted, Jon Fredrik Baksaas and Ingvild Myhre. The goal was to create the largest market place of its kind in Norway. However the chief executive officer Knut Oppegaard quit in March 2001 and was replaced by Ann-Kristin Hageløkken. The portal had not yet been opened. The plans were then significantly altered in April 2001, as the plans for online trading were cut. Den Norske Bank
Den norske Bank or DnB was a Norwegian bank that existed between 1990 and 2003 when it merged with Gjensidige NOR to form DnB NOR (now DNB ASA). The bank's headquarters were in Bergen, Norway. DnB was created as a merger between Bergen Bank and Den norske Creditbank in 1990 after a major downturn in the economy, especially affecting the banks, who lost vast amounts of money due to misheld loans and falling housing prices. Gunn Wærsted
Gunn Wærsted (born 16 March 1955) is a Norwegian businessperson, with prominent positions in finance and banking. She was born in Vråliosen as a daughter of power plant manager Atle W. Wærsted and Ester Helgerud (1920–). The family moved to Drammen when Wærsted was six years old. She graduated with the siv.øk. degree from BI Norwegian Business School in 1979. She was hired in Andenæsgruppen as a secretary in the same year, and soon advanced to chief financial officer. She left five years later to work in the investment company Nevi in Fyllingsdalen. Jon Fredrik Baksaas (born 1954) is the Chairman of the GSMA and until August 2015 the CEO of Telenor. He now serves as a special adviser to the telecommunications company's Group Executive Management team. Among the longest-serving top executives in international telecoms and in Norwegian business life, Baksaas served as President and CEO of Telenor for 13 years, from June 2002 to August 2015. Rune Bjerke (born 17 June 1960) is a Norwegian businessperson and politician for the Labour Party. Rune is son of Juul Bjerke and brother of Siri Bjerke.
