Doomfoxx
Doomfoxx was an Australian hard rock band that existed between 2004 and 2010. During their most active and successful period, the band consisted of Stu McKie (vocals), Mick Cocks and Dave Thomas (guitar), Archi Read (bass) and Jase Burec (drums). The band was most successful in western Europe, particularly Germany, where they toured extensively. Doomfoxx released an EP and an album, both called ''Doomfoxx'', and a second album that was never released. History Singer Stu McKie and drummer Jase Burec had previously played together in a band called Circle that had formed in Sydney in 1990. In 1992 that band released a self-titled EP but the band ran its course and McKie moved to New York City and Burec relocated to Adelaide. Mick Cocks
Michael Thomas Cocks (11 January 1955 – 22 December 2009), known professionally as Mick Cocks, was an Australian musician, most noted for his guitar and songwriting work with Rose Tattoo. His original sound and style heavily influenced Guns N' Roses, who recorded a cover of the Rose Tattoo song "Nice Boys". He was also a member of Heaven, The Headhunters, Illustrated Men, Doomfoxx, Pete Wells' Heart Attack, and the Ted Mulry Gang. On 16 August 2006, Rose Tattoo were inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame. In April 2009, Cocks was diagnosed with liver cancer and died from the disease eight months later, on 22 December 2009. He was the fifth member of Rose Tattoo to die of cancer, preceded by Dallas Royall (1991), Peter Wells (2006), Ian Rilen (2006), and Lobby Loyde (2007). Iceberg Slim
Robert Beck (born Robert Lee Maupin or Robert Moppins Jr.; August 4, 1918 – April 28, 1992), better known as Iceberg Slim, was an American pimp who later became a writer. Beck's 1967 memoir, ''Pimp: The Story of My Life'' sold very well, mainly among Black audiences. By 1973, it had been reprinted 19 times and had sold nearly 2 million copies. He also wrote novels such as ''Trick Baby.'' Early life Maupin was born in Chicago, Illinois. He spent his childhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Rockford, Illinois, until he returned to Chicago. When his mother was abandoned by his father, she established a beauty shop and worked as a domestic hairstylist to support both of them in Milwaukee. The Michael Schenker Group (often abbreviated as MSG) is an English hard rock band, formed in London in 1979 by former Scorpions and UFO guitarist Michael Schenker. After the release of their second live album, 1984's '' Rock Will Never Die'', The band went on a two-year hiatus and Schenker disbanded the band in 1986. The Darkness are a British hard rock band formed in Lowestoft in 2000. The band consists of Justin Hawkins (vocals, guitar), his brother Dan Hawkins (musician), Dan Hawkins (guitar), Frankie Poullain (bass) and Rufus Tiger Taylor (drums). The Darkness came to prominence with the release of their debut album, ''Permission to Land'', in 2003. Uli Jon Roth
Uli Jon Roth (born Ulrich Roth; 18 December 1954) is a German guitarist who became famous for his work with the hard rock band Scorpions and is one of the earliest contributors to the neoclassical metal genre. He is also founder of the Sky Academy seminars and designer of the Sky Guitar. He is the older brother of fellow guitarist and artist Zeno Roth (1956–2018). Quireboys
The Quireboys are an English rock band formed in 1984 in London, with strong ties to Newcastle. Originally known as The Choirboys, then The Queerboys, billed as The London Quireboys in the United States and Canada, settling at last with their current name. History 1985–1989: Formation Vocalist Jonathan Gray (commonly referred to as just 'Spike') moved from Newcastle upon Tyne to London when he was 17 years old and met guitarist Guy Bailey in a bar.
