Donnell Whittenburg
Donnell Whittenburg (born August 18, 1994) is an American artistic gymnast. He is a member of the United States men's national artistic gymnastics team. Early life and education Whittenburg was born on August 18, 1994, in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Edgewood High School and later a local community college and DeVry University. He was coached as a youth by Abdul Mammeri. He decided to pursue gymnastics and moved to Colorado to attend the United States Olympic Training Center under Vitaly Marinich. Gymnastics career Whittenburg's strongest events are rings, vault, and floor. He won a bronze medal at the 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He was the 2014 U.S. National champion on Vault and is the 2015 U.S. national champion on rings. 2024 Winter Cup
The 2024 Winter Cup, known officially as the Kentucky Winter Classic, was an artistic gymnastics competition held at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 23–25, 2024. As in recent years, the competition included men's and women's gymnastics. Background The event was held in Louisville, which had hosted the previous Winter Cup. Vault (gymnastics)
The vault is an artistic gymnastics maneuver typically performed on a pommel horse or a vaulting table. Both male and female gymnasts perform the vault. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is VT. The apparatus German Friedrich Ludwig Jahn popularized the vault's early forms. The apparatus itself originated as a "horse", much like the pommel horse but without the handles; it was sometimes known as the vaulting horse. The rings, also known as still rings (in contrast to flying rings), is an artistic gymnastics apparatus and the event that uses it. 2016 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships
The 2016 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships is the fifteenth edition of the Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships. The competition was held April 8–10, 2016 at the Xfinity Arena (for artistic and trampoline events) and the Everett Community College (for rhythmic events) – both of which are in Everett, Washington. The 2021 Pan American Gymnastics Championships was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in June 2021.
