Donald C. Fry
Donald Fry (born June 23, 1955) is a former member of the Maryland House of Delegates and the Maryland State Senate. Background Fry was a member of the Maryland Senate from 1997–99, representing District 35, which covers Harford and Cecil Counties. He was defeated in 1998 by Republican J. Robert Hooper. Prior to being appointed as a state senator, Fry was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 35A, which only covered Harford County. He was first elected in 1990, along with Republican Jim Harkins. Both men were elected to replace incumbents Democrat Joseph Lutz, who was defeated in the general election, and one time Republican William A. Clark, who was defeated by Fry in the Democratic primary. On November 12, 1997, Governor Parris Glendening appointed Donald Fry to replace Democrat William H. Amoss, who died on October 8, 1997. Maryland's Legislative District 35 is one of 47 districts in the state for the Maryland General Assembly. It covers parts of Cecil County and Harford County. The district is divided into two sub-districts for the Maryland House of Delegates: District 35A and District 35B. Demographic characteristics As of the 2020 United States census, the district had a population of 132,271, of whom 102,803 (77.7%) were of voting age. The racial makeup of the district was 112,391 (85.0%) White, 6,540 (4.9%) African American, 317 (0.2%) Native American, 2,552 (1.9%) Asian, 45 (0.0%) Pacific Islander, 1,845 (1.4%) from some other race, and 8,578 (6.5%) from two or more races. Bel Air, MD
The town of Bel Air is the county seat of Harford County, Maryland. According to the 2020 United States census, the population of the town was 10,661. History Bel Air's identity has gone through several incarnations since 1780. Aquilla Scott, who had inherited land known as "Scott's Improvement Enlarged," planned the town on a portion that he called "Scott's Old Fields." Four years later, the town had expanded as local politicians, merchants, and innkeepers purchased lots from Scott, and the county commissioners decided to change its name to the more appealing "Belle Aire." In his deeds, Scott dropped one letter, renaming the town, "Bell Aire." Around 1798, court records dropped two more letters, and "Bel Air" was born. During this period, Bel Air began to rise in prominence.
