Donald Adam Hartman

	Donald Adam Hartman Donald Adam Hartman (August 3, 1929 – July 5, 1996) was the 33rd Mayor of Calgary from March 21, 1989 to October 23, 1989. He had been a city Alderman since October 22, 1969. Klein also served as the 32nd mayor of Calgary from 1980 to 1989. Ralph was born and mostly grew up in Calgary, Alberta. After dropping out of High School in grade 11, Klein joined the Royal Canadian Air Force reserves for one year and then attended the Calgary Business College. Klein later worked as a teacher and principal at the Calgary Business College, and later public relations with non-profits. After that, Klein became a prominent local journalist in Calgary where he reported on the challenges of the working class, social outcasts and First Nations, endearing himself to those groups. 	Al Duerr Alfred Herman "Al" Duerr (born January 29, 1951) is a Canadian former Canadian politician who served as the 34th Mayor of Calgary, Alberta from 1989 to 2001, and a city alderman from 1983 to 1989. Education Duerr attended the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a degree in Urban Geography and Regional Urban Development and holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. Political career Duerr was first elected as an Alderman for Ward 9 on Calgary City Council in 1983, and was re-elected in 1986. Incumbent Mayor Ralph Klein would resign in the months before the 1989 municipal election to purse provincial office, and Al Duerr would contest and win the Mayor's seat in the 1989 election.
