Don Thompson (racing Driver)
Don Thompson (born March 10, 1954) is an American professional stock car racing driver who last competed in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 45 Chevrolet for Tamayo Cosentino Racing. Over the course of his ARCA career, Thompson mostly competed at his home track of Pocono Raceway, primarily driving for Wayne Peterson Racing, getting a best track finish of eighteenth in 2020. His best finish was a sixteenth-place finish at Kentucky Speedway. He also made one ARCA Menards Series East start at Bristol Motor Speedway, which was a combination event with the main ARCA series, where he finished 30th due to brake issues. In 2023, it was revealed that Thompson would drive the No. 45 Chevrolet for Tamayo Cosentino Racing at Pocono, where he posted no time in the lone practice session, qualified in 23rd, and finished 22nd due to mechanical issues. The Atlas 100 (formerly the Allen Crowe 100) is an ARCA Racing Series stock car race held annually on the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack during the Illinois State Fair. Allen Crowe Born November 12, 1928, in Springfield, Illinois, Allen Crowe died in New Bremen, Ohio, on June 2, 1963, from injuries sustained in a Sprint Car race at New Bremen Speedway. The Herr's Snacks 200 is an ARCA Menards Series race held at Berlin Raceway. The race has been scheduled on either the ARCA Menards Series or ARCA Menards Series East schedules each year except for 2019 (and run each year except that year and 2020). History The ARCA Permatex SuperCar Series (now known as the ARCA Menards Series), ran its inaugural race at the track in 1986. It then was off the schedule for a dozen years. The Sunset Hill Shooting Range 150 is a annual ARCA Menards Series race held at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. The track has been on the ARCA schedule each year since 1987 and the track also hosted races for the series in 1969 and 1983. History ARCA ran at Pocono Raceway for the first time in 1969 on a paved oval, two years before the modern superspeedway was opened. That race was won by Bobby Watson. The series would not return to the track until 1983, when it ran just one year, this time on the superspeedway. The series would take another hiatus at the track, not returning until 1987.
