Don Rosa
Keno Don Hugo Rosa (), known as Don Rosa (born June 29, 1951), is an American comic book writer and illustrator known for his comics about Scrooge McDuck and other Disney comics, Disney characters. Many of his stories are built on characters and locations created by Carl Barks. Rosa created about 90 stories between 1987 and 2006, and in 1995 his 12-chapter work ''The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck'' won the Eisner Award for Best Serialized Story. Early life Don Rosa was born Keno Don Hugo Rosa on June 29, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky. Rosa's older sister was an avid collector of comics and exposed Don to comics as a storytelling medium at a very early age, teaching him to "read the pictures." Gladstone Comics
Gladstone Publishing was an American company that published Disney comics from 1986 to 1990 and from 1993 to 1998. The company had its origins as a subsidiary of Another Rainbow Publishing, a company formed by Bruce Hamilton and Russ Cochran to publish the Carl Barks Library and produce limited edition lithographs of Carl Barks oil paintings of the Disney ducks. The name references Gladstone Gander. Reprints of classic Donald Duck stories by Carl Barks and Mickey Mouse stories by Floyd Gottfredson were the foundation of their output. Don Rosa, William Van Horn, and Pat Block are among the modern Disney comics artists who got their start at Gladstone. Some of the Van Horn stories had scripts by frequent collaborator John Lustig. It ran from October 6, 1979, to August 15, 1982, after the publication of 150 episodes. ''The Louisville Times'' was a newspaper that was published in Louisville, Kentucky. It was founded in 1884 by Walter N. Haldeman, as the afternoon counterpart to ''The Courier-Journal'', the dominant morning newspaper in Louisville and the commonwealth of Kentucky for many years. ''Rocket's Blast Comicollector'' (''RBCC'') was a comics advertising fanzine published from 1964 to 1983. The result of a merger with a similar publication, ''RBCCs purpose was to bring fans together for the purpose of adding to their comic book collections. It also proved to be a launching pad for aspiring comic book creators, many of whom corresponded and exchanged their work through ''RBCC'', and published work in the fanzine as amateurs. ''RBCC'' featured fan-generated art, original articles, and advertisements from comic book fans and dealers. DR (), officially the Danish Broadcasting Corporation in English, is a Danish public-service radio and television broadcasting company. A dystopia (lit. "bad place") is an imagined world or society in which people lead wretched, dehumanized, fearful lives.
