Donald George Evan Richardson (2 March 1928 – 6 March 2008) was a musical arranger, producer, bandleader and promoter in New Zealand. As a songwriter, his songs became hits for some well, known New Zealand artists, including Saint Paul for Shane. Background He was born Donald George Evan Richardson in Wellington on 2 March 1928. He went to school at Rongotai College. In his young years, he was something of a prodigy, playing the saxophone. Philips Records is a record label founded by the Dutch electronics company Philips. It was founded as Philips Phonographische Industrie in 1950. Steve Allen (born Alan Stephenson) is a New Zealand singer and recording artist who found popularity as a singer during the 1970s. He is also known for the hit song " Join Together", and the song for the television commercial, "Use Your Nana". Background Early on in his career he was the lead guitarist and vocalist with a Wellington group called the Lost Souls. He left the group in 1968 to go solo. The following year he had a single "This Old Man" bw "Just You Wait" on the HMV label. He was credited as Stevie Allen. Bunny Te Kokiri Miha Waahi Walters (31 May 1953 – 14 December 2016) was a New Zealand singer who had a number of New Zealand hits during the 1970s. He is best known for the hits " Brandy" and "Take the Money and Run". Background Of Ngāi Te Rangi descent, Walters was born and raised in Katikati, a town on the North Island of New Zealand. Career In 1969, he competed against Tui Fox at Joe Brown's at the Rotorua Soundshell during the ''Search for Stars'' event held there. Fox was singing similar material to Walters. Fox won the final with Walters coming in second. His first single, titled "Just Out of Reach", was released in 1969. He then released "It's Been Too Long" and "Can't Keep You Out of My Heart". Samoan-born Eliza Keil started out singing with her brothers in the popular New Zealand rock & roll group the Keil Isles and would later become a solo artist in her own right with a string of TV appearances and a part in a film. Career 1960s Eliza Keil was the sister of Olaf, Herma and Klaus Keil. She was also the cousin of Freddie and Alphonso. W&G Records
W&G Records was an Australian recording company that operated from the early 1950s to the 1970s. It was a subsidiary of the Melbourne precision engineering company White & Gillespie.
