Enzo Pastor
Ferdinand "Enzo" Pastor (January 24, 1982 – June 12, 2014) was a Filipino racing driver. Pastor made his racing debut at the 1999 Toyota Corolla Cup with a Toyota Corolla as his first vehicle. Pastor was the first Filipino to have participated in the NASCAR Whelen Euroseries Open Championship race circuit. Pastor landed on sixth place overall for his first Euroseries Open Championship in 2013 and made one of the fastest laps in the series. Pastor was invited to participate in the K&N Pro Series East. On June 12, 2014, Pastor died from gunshot wounds after motorcycle-riding gunmen ambushed the truck he rode on in Quezon City, which left his assistant, Paolo Salazar, injured. NASCAR Whelen Euroseries
The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (formerly known as Racecar Euro Series and Euro-Racecar NASCAR Touring Series) is an official NASCAR stock-car racing series based in Europe. It is one of NASCAR's three international-sanctioned series, alongside the NASCAR Pinty's Series and the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series, and the only one based outside North America. History French rally driver Jérôme Galpin conceived the idea of a European-based stock car racing series after he watched a NASCAR race in 2002. The 2013 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series was the fifth season and 1st with the new series denomination of stock car racing in Europe. The season started on 31 March at Nogaro, and ended on 13 October at Le Mans after twelve races at six meetings. Ander Vilariño is the defending driver's champion. Buttonwillow is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in the San Joaquin Valley, in Kern County, California. Buttonwillow is west of Bakersfield, at an elevation of ). The population was 1,508 at the 2010 census, up from 1,266 at the 2000 census. The center of population of California is located in Buttonwillow. History The town was originally called Buena Vista when it was founded in 1895, but the name quickly became Buttonwillow. Buttonwillow was named for the ''buttonbush'' ''( Cephalanthus occidentalis)''. A lone buttonbush served as a landmark on an old trans-valley trail and was used by ancient Yokuts Indian as a meeting place, later becoming the site of settlers' stock rodeos.
