Don Moseley
Don Moseley (born 4 April 1954) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s. He played for Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs, Canterbury Bankstown and Western Suburbs Magpies, Western Suburbs in the New South Wales Rugby League premiership. He played in multiple positions and was mainly used as a utility player. Playing career Moseley began his first grade career with Canterbury in 1974. In the same season he played in the 1974 NSWRFL season, 1974 grand final loss against Eastern Suburbs Roosters, Eastern Suburbs. In 1975 NSWRFL season, 1975 and 1976 NSWRFL season, 1976, Canterbury qualified for the finals but fell short of a grand final appearance on both occasions. Yagoona
Yagoona, a suburb of the local government area City of Canterbury-Bankstown, is located 20 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is a part of the South-western Sydney region. Yagoona is an Aboriginal word meaning 'now' or 'today'. It was the site of the first McDonald's restaurant to open in Australia in December 1971. Cronulla Sharks
The Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Cronulla, in the Sutherland Shire, Southern Sydney, New South Wales. They compete in the National Rugby League ( NRL), Australasia's premier rugby league competition. The Sharks, as they are commonly known, were admitted to the New South Wales Rugby League premiership, predecessor of the Australian Rugby League and the current National Rugby League competition, in January 1967. The club competed in every premiership season since then and, during the Super League war, joined the rebel competition before continuing on in the re-united NRL Premiership. Canterbury-Bankstown is a customary region of Sydney, Australia, in the south-western suburbs. The area is located around the Bankstown railway line, to the west of the St George region and to the south of the Inner West region. The ''Continuous Call Team'' is an Australian radio sports program, covering the news and live games of the National Rugby League. It is produced and broadcast by 2GB Sydney, and is relayed to stations in New South Wales, the ACT, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and Papua New Guinea. 1979 NSWRFL Season
The 1979 NSWRFL season was the 72nd season of Sydney's professional rugby league football competition, Australia's first. Twelve New South Wales Rugby Football League clubs competed for the J.J. Giltinan Shield and WD & HO Wills Cup during the season, which culminated in a grand final between the St. George and Canterbury-Bankstown clubs. NSWRFL teams also competed in the 1979 Amco Cup. Season summary Twenty-two regular season rounds were played from March till August, resulting in a top five of St. George, Parramatta, Cronulla-Sutherland, Western Suburbs and Canterbury-Bankstown who battled it out in the finals. Parramatta's Ray Price was the 1979 season's Rothmans Medallist, and also won ''Rugby League Week''’s player of the year award.
