Don Looney
John Don Looney (September 2, 1916 – April 5, 2015) was a professional American football end in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected in the eighth round of the 1940 NFL draft. He played three seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles (1940) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (1941–1942). Looney set new NFL records for catches and yards in a single game during his 1940 rookie season and led the league in receiving yards, topping Packers player and Hall of Fame inductee Don Hutson. The 1940 NFL season was the 21st regular season of the National Football League. The ten teams of the league each played an 11 game schedule, for a total of 55 regular season games. Don Hutson
Donald Montgomery Hutson (January 31, 1913 – June 26, 1997), nicknamed "the Alabama Antelope", was an American professional football player and coach in the National Football League (NFL). In the era of the one-platoon football, he played as an end and spent his entire 11-year career with the Green Bay Packers. Under head coach Curly Lambeau, Hutson led the Packers to four NFL Championship Games, winning three in 1936, 1939, and 1944. Hutson joined the Packers in 1935 and played 11 seasons before he retired in 1945. He led the league in receiving yards in seven separate seasons and led the league in receiving touchdowns in nine seasons. A talented safety on defense, he also led the NFL in interceptions in 1940.
